HappyThankYouMorePlease Trailer

Catchy title, isn't it? Anchor Bay has debuted a trailer on Apple for Josh Radnor's writing/directing debut HappyThankYouMorePlease, which won the Audience Award at Sundance last year (read my glowing review). They're finally releasing this in theaters in March and now we've got a trailer to go along with that. The ensemble film stars Josh Radnor, Kate Mara, Malin Akerman, Zoe Kazan, Pablo Schreiber, Tony Hale and Richard Jenkins. It's a charming comedy that follows three different "couples", with a main focus on Radnor. It was one of my favorite indies from last year, so I hope a few of you check it out!

It captures a generational moment - young people on the cusp of truly growing up, tiring of their reflexive cynicism, each in their own ways struggling to connect and define what it means to love and be loved.

HappyThankYouMorePlease is both written and directed by actor Josh Radnor, most well known for "How I Met Your Mother" making his feature writing/directing debut with this film. This originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year, where it went on to win the Audience Award. Anchor Bay Films is bringing HappyThankYouMorePlease to limited theaters starting on March 4th this year. Hope you guys enjoy it!

this movie looks like a good ensemble story. i thought a lot of the dialogue/jokes was pretty good too.......... i'd like to see this (probably off netflix since i don't know if it'll make it to a theatre in my area).

some resemblance to short cuts?

Boris on Jan 13, 2011

well, there aren't as many actors in this as "short cuts" and this movie doesn't appear to have as many sad stories, but they do resemble each other. it's been a long time since i've seen that one. i think i'll add it to my netflix queue and watch it again - i enjoyed it the first time!

looks poorly acted

Vshtabnoy on Jan 13, 2011

Nah, that's definitely not the case! Kata Mara is good, even Malin Akerman was impressive, Tony Hale was awesome. I thought the performances were all great.

they may be good in other movies, but here they look bad

Vshtabnoy on Jan 13, 2011

I'm not talking about other movies? ... I saw HappyThankYouMorePlease twice at Sundance last year and loved it both times.

Alex Billington on Jan 13, 2011

The last joke ruined the trailer.

Mattias Nielsen on Jan 13, 2011

An indie movie that is indie just to be indie. I guarantee there was hopes of getting Michael Cera to be in it.

It looks interesting.

I absolutely love How I Met Your Mother so I cannot wait for this. Any idea on if it is gonna get a wide or just a limited release?

Corey Ragland on Jan 13, 2011

Definitely limited, it's a very indie film, took a while to even find a distributor. Hope it does well, not sure many people will see it. Are you going to see it?

Alex Billington on Jan 13, 2011

I'll have to wait til DVD I'm sure because limited release films tend to not make it to Muncie, Indiana

Corey Ragland on Jan 15, 2011

Hmmm, looks interesting. Perhaps, a movie to watch when in a "searching for the meaning of life" and drama type of mood. Maybe something to hold off until it hits Netflix. Thanks for sharing!

Rich Burge on Jan 13, 2011

Further proof that the reason we watch How I Met Your Mother, despite it being a pretty typical sit-com, is that everyone involved is secretly brilliant.
