"I'm not here to save you, I'm the main character of my life." Anchor Bay has released the official trailer via Hulu for indie film Daydream Nation, made by the filmmaker Michael Goldbach. This drama stars Kat Dennings in a coming-of-age tale that apparently involves some weird people in her high school, including Reece Thompson who isn't enough indie films as is. You know, as much as I (used to) love Kat Dennings, I'm starting to get a little wary of her. Or maybe this trailer is just forgettable. It looks so typical, like it hits every indie coming-of-age cliche and more. Check out the official trailer below if you wish to watch anyway.
Watch the official trailer for Michael Goldbach's Daydream Nation from YouTube:
Tells the story of a city girl (Kat Dennings) who moves to a small town and becomes entangled in a love triangle with her high school teacher (Josh Lucas) and her stoner classmate Thurston (Reece Thompson).
Daydream Nation is the directorial debut of Canadian writer/filmmaker Michael Goldbach, who originally premiered Daydream Nation at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival last year. Anchor Bay Films is distributing in the US and currently has the film scheduled for a limited release starting on May 6th this summer. This is a quick release for an indie we haven't heard much about since last year for better or worse.

Feels like the 80's and 90's again when movies and TV about teens, "River's Edge" and "My So-Called Life," were felt realistic. It sucks we've had to wait so long to see this.

"Juno as reimagined by David Lynch"? I must be missing something here. I'm going to pass this one over unless I hear some pretty great reviews.

The film apparently opens April 15 in Canada. I may check it out if it's playing near me.

Re: Trailers More often than not, trailers are produced by people OTHER THAN the filmmakers. Be "wary" of reviews based on trailers...
