The year is almost over which means skilled editor and cinephile Kees van Dijkhuizen only has two more filmmakers to showcase before his video series comes to an end. We've only just pointed out the retrospective videos magnificently highlighting directors like Tim Burton and Ridley Scott, and now our attention turns to one of the most high profile directors of the decade: Christopher Nolan. Though his filmography is significantly smaller than most featured directors (only 7 films to his name), with titles like The Dark Knight, Memento and Inception among them, he deserves the recognition. Watch below!
Here's a look at [the films of] Christopher Nolan from Kees van Dijkhuizen (via SlashFilm):
Van Dijkhuizen says, "Christopher Nolan’s films have kept anyone of us on the edge of their seat. Every film is filled with secrets, surprises, twists and turns, and only a true movie mastermind could keep even the biggest film nut fooled until the very last minute. They’re films that demand a second, third and fourth viewing. Christopher Nolan is a perfect example of traditional filmmaking with modern twists, and is a fine addition to a series already filled to the brink with inspiring artists." If you want to recap the other featured filmmakers before the last one is revealed next month, you can see those right here. Cool?

The Prestige is one of the most underated movies ever. If you've not seen it, watch it!

I think its safe to say that Nolan is the best Hollywood has to offer right now.

Nolan the best Hollywood has to offer? IMO doubt it, Darren Aronofsky is on the same level if not higher than Nolan.

I agree, although I it's comparing Bacon and Eggs at this point. I'd like to see how Aronofsky handles a blockbuster-level movie like Batman.

I'm sorry but "The Wrestler" & "The Fountain" don't even come close to any of Chris Nolan's films.

Got to disagree whole heartedly on ""Christopher Nolan’s films have kept anyone of us on the edge of their seat. Every film is filled with secrets, surprises, twists and turns, and only a true movie mastermind could keep even the biggest film nut fooled until the very last minute." With the exception of The Dark Knight I found Nolans films keep my slouching in my seat with how drawn out, if not painfully slow paced. The Prestige certainly fulfilled the 2nd part with secrets, suprises, etc, but the 2 Bats and Inception didn't fool me for a second. Yes I still haven't seen Memento or Insomnia, so maybe I'm missing out on 2 of his best films...

Momento is one of the best movies ever, please check it out and while I loved Insomnia you would defiantly dislike how slow it is

Didn't really care for Batman Begins but Nolan doesn't have any bad films.....gotta respect that.

a really nice montage, one of Kees' best. it doesn't show you the omg moments in all of the films, but it does a good job conveying Nolan's preoccupation with identity and memory. the comments above show he's not everyone's favourite - fair enough. but i agree with Ethan. there's something in all of his films that brings me back - repeatedly - and that's pretty rare.
