Kermit - The Muppets

The Muppets are almost here! Its been 12 years since they were last on the big screen and this project has come quite a long way to reach this point. One of the big hurdles early on was casting Amy Adams to play the girlfriend of Jason Segel, and when they were first trying to cast her, Kermit and Jason made a video that they sent to her asking her to be in the movie. Deadline got the exclusive video and they've posted it in full for your viewing pleasure. "Three of the five songs Jason has sung to me so far have been original songs about how much he wants you to be in the movie." Even the casting process for this was fun! See it below.

James Bobin ("Flight of the Conchords") is at the helm of this new Muppets movie, which follows Walter and Gary (Segel), two die-hard Muppet fans and roommates who must save Muppet Theater by reuniting Kermit, Piggy, and the entire troupe to stage an "old-fashioned extravaganza." The cast is full of all kinds of celebrity cameos and other great random appearances, including Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Zach Galifianakis, Ricky Gervais, Alan Arkin and Billy Crystal. We've been waiting for this! Disney will be bringing The Muppets to theaters starting November 23rd this Thanksgiving. It's almost here, go see it!

I thought Amy was joking when she got a video of Jason singing asking her to be a part of The Muppets.

The Muppets are bad f***ing ass, always will be. I've followed them back to their original tv series, take manhattan, through treasure island, and from space. They will always be incredible and lovable and it great they their place in everyones' hearts are still there and still surfacing..................but Amy Adams and Jason Segal, you guys are killing their reputation! I will see the movie for the muppet gang, but i totally agree with the original founding members' take and feel for the direction the muppets are going in, from the article Alex posted weeks ago.
