Watch: Latest UK Trailer for Thriller 'The Retreat' with Cillian Murphy
"I have no idea… what is actually going on out there." Our friends at Empire have posted a new official trailer for another upcoming "global pandemic" thriller The Retreat, which is a perfectly more thrilling flick to follow-up Contagion this coming weekend. We've seen an early sales trailer for Retreat, but this one is just as good. The film stars Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton as two people on an island who mysteriously find a third man, Jamie Bell, who says the rest of the world is overtaken by a virus. I want to see this, looks like a solid thriller, it also has a bit of a Lost tinge. "We're never gunna leave this island…"
Watch the latest international trailer for Carl Tibbetts' The Retreat, from Empire:
Kate and Martin (Newton and Murphy) escape from personal tragedy to an Island Retreat. Cut off from the outside world, their attempts to recover are shattered when a Man (Bell) is washed ashore, with news of airborne killer disease that is sweeping throughout Europe. Produced by Gary Sinyor of Magnet Films.
Retreat is directed by first-time filmmaker Carl Tibbetts, from a screenplay co-written by Carl Tibbetts and Janice Hallett. This was produced by Ripple World and Magnet Films in the UK last year and was shot mostly in Wales. The Retreat is hitting theaters in the UK in October, but we're not sure on the actual US release plans yet. Hopefully we'll see it sometime this fall, but we'll have to keep you updated. Look good?
Been waiting on this for what seems a long time, completely forgot about - looks promising, I just hope it sticks to it's premise and doesn't get stupid in the final act.

I hope Cillian Murphy does more American mainstream movies from now on.

Actually looks pretty good, as this has been done so many times it all comes down to the actors performances and this seem to have nailed that. I am in

I saw the movie in Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival. It's pretty bad actually. Don't let the trailer fool you.

Saw it in Montreal. has a DTV-vibe too it. Some good moments, but in the end not the greatest film.

I think I know whats going on here. Yeah I'm in, a schizophrenic, a mourning couple and an otherwise desolate island; sounds like a jolly time at the cinema
