Watch: New Trailer for Sci-Fi 'Lock-Out' or 'Escape From M.S. One'

Lock-Out Trailer

"Yea, I should've stayed in college." As awesome as this sci-fi movie looks, it's having an identity crisis. It was originally titled Lock-Out, or also Lockout (without a dash), but has now been retitled to MS One: Maximum Security in Europe, and Escape From M.S. One in the US (I wonder if that had anything to do with all the comparisons to Escape from New York?). Lock-Out stars Guy Pearce as a felon hired to go to a Maximum Security space station prison to rescue a girl, Maggie Grace. Thanks to Allocine we've got a new trailer in HD quality. It looks like some hard sci-fi, but still awesome, I'm excited to see this despite its title.

Watch the latest int. trailer for James Mather & Stephen St. Leger's Escape From M.S. One, via Allocine:

A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the US is offered freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter (Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

Lockout (or Lock-Out) is directed by French cinematographers James Mather & Stephen St. Leger, of only the short Prey Alone, making their feature directorial debut. The screenplay was co-written by Mather & St. Leger and filmmaker Luc Besson, who also executive produced the film at Europa Corp. FilmDistrict is releasing Lockout in the US, and has set an April 20th, 2012 release next year. Look good to anyone?

Nice... This trailer was at least 10x better then the last one. Love seeing Guy Pearce as the badass anti-hero.

still needs an eye-patch....and one of those Kurt Russel guys

Jericho on Dec 14, 2011

You mean it needs one of those Snake Plissken guys... oh but then that would've been what you call "intellectual property theft." Use a different name and they can get away with it - ha! (Just kidding obviously...)

I might be a little punch drunk from the awesomeness of this trailer but let me see if I get this right. Guy Pearce channels Johnny Depp by way of Hugh Jackman in an attempt to become as close to Kurt Russell's Snake Plissken as possible?...Well then, Sign. Me. Up:)

I believe it's actually Johnny Depp by way of Hugh Jackman through a sieve of Brad Pitt in an attempt to channel Kurt Russell's Snake Plissken. Hell, if we'd seen some one on one combat scenes I'm sure there would even be some Matt Damon as Jason Bourne kick assery to enjoy. Here's my $15, give me my *@!%&#^ movie ticket, I'm in.

Guy Pierce looks just like Col Shepard from Mass Effect. This movie looks pretty good, I'm gonna check it out

Rooneyman on Dec 14, 2011

Man does this look great! But it's weird seeing Pearce play this type of role lol.

DotaDestroyer on Dec 14, 2011

Looks good! Is this a loose remake of that old Sean Connery movie where he worked as a maximum security officer that was on the moon?

jah p on Dec 14, 2011

if i could get past the RIDICULOUS notion that the presidents daughter would be visiting a place like this (in the first place) -then , yes - it  might be worth a rent...........i doubt i'll be watching it though.

Perfect....i prefer this to a re-make and thus ripping off kurt russel and putting snake in space vs replacing kurt russel with a girl and calling it The Thing.

Adam on Dec 14, 2011

I liked the Thing prequel more than the original. Just sayin.

rennmaxbeta on Dec 14, 2011

HAH!! That's a good one!

John on Dec 15, 2011

The Thing prequel was good but had one major flaw that drops it from a 4 outof five to a 2.9 out of 5. The effects were awesome, the acting was good but they Fckd up a major plot line. In the original (and the director could of used the footage) you see black and white film of "Norjds" blowing up the ice and exposing the ship. The writers completely left out that fact because you see them find the ship in a huge hole and enter it through some cave.  Don't give me oh after the ship exploded is when the hole was made crap. That is a major flaw and had they noticed it or maybe watched the first film from the beginning they would of seen this glaring error. They delivered some many other anwsers, The 2 face formation, The THing bursting from the ice block they brought back, the Special Effects, The ending...... I dont get it but Read the short storie "Who goes There". THe Carpenter story is more faithful and the second movie made about the Thing. This is the 3rd..
