The most corrupt cop you've ever seen on screen. Yea, that's the tagline and it's a doozy. Millennium Ent. has released the official trailer for Rampart, directed by Oren Moverman and starring Woody Harrelson as the most corrupt cop in LA in the 90s. Ice Cube, Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Foster, Robin Wright, Anne Heche and Cynthia Nixon co-star. As interesting as this may look, I must trust the opinion of my friend Jordan of The Film Stage, who saw it at TIFF and asks: "How could someone that created such a tense drama with honest characters deliver such a disaster?" Ouch. Give this a look anyway!
Watch the first official trailer for Oren Moverman's Rampart, originally in high def from Apple:
Woody Harrelson gives a ferocious performance as a dirty cop, balancing a home life with two ex-wives as he becomes embroiled in the Los Angeles Police Department's infamous Rampart corruption scandal.
Rampart is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Oren Moverman, director of The Messenger previously and screenwriter of Married Life, I'm Not There and Face previously. The screenplay was co-written by Moverman and author James Ellroy, of L.A. Confidential and Street Kings, based on his story. This premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this fall. Millenium Entertainment will be bringing Rampart to limited theaters on November 23rd, next week, starting in NY and LA only. Visit their official website.

Why so much negative press when you've never seen it. I hope this duo continue to do movies and this one looks pretty impressive

and coming from me - this is saying something..........usually, i pass on most of these crooked cops movies. they end up too formulaic like rom-coms do. i also like that this is based (albeit loosely, i'm sure) on something that did happen.

agreed - he seems perfect for the high-intensity; "kinda crazy" role.........ala "natural born killers".

Looks pretty good! I wish everytime a movie about a crooked LA cop would not be compared to Training Day so much...

Looks good to me too. A little bit Training Day, The Shield, Street Kings. That's a nice role for Sigourney as well; something I haven't seen her do before.
