X-Men: First Class Trailer

You ready for this? Let's find out… 20th Century Fox has debuted the first official trailer on Facebook for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, the comic book-inspired prequel starring an awesome ensemble cast of fine, young actors. James McAvoy leads the way as Charles Xavier, and Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, who search and collect a group of young mutants including: January Jones as Emma Frost, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Jason Flemyng, Lucas Till and Edi Gathegi. It looks pretty damn cool, I'm sold, I love the mood, it seems sleek and epic. I can't wait! Check it out below!

You can also watch the X-Men: First Class trailer in High Def on YouTube

Before Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) took the names Professor X & Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time, even working together as friends.

X-Men: First Class is directed by British director Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake, Stardust and Kick-Ass. Bryan Singer, director of X-Men 1 and 2, is producing and wrote the story. The screenplay was written by quite a few writers, including Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl" & "Chuck"), Jamie Moss (Street Kings), Ashley Miller ("Fringe", Thor), Zack Stentz, and finally Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass). Marv Films & 20th Century Fox are bringing X-Men: First Class to theaters everywhere starting June 3rd this summer. Who's excited?

I'm actually surprised how good this looks...

Th on Feb 10, 2011

Looked good, but I don't know how excited I am considering there is no Wolverine. :/

Farris Dabis on Feb 10, 2011

Eh. Nightcrawler will be in it, which makes more than up for it. He was always my favorite character and I was sad he wasn't a bigger part of the X-Men movies. They were all more of a Wolverine show. Also, Beast looks awesome!

Anonymous on Feb 10, 2011

i hate to break the news to yah..but its nightcrawlers dad XD

Fallendeathspider on Feb 10, 2011

Lol, oh well. Don't have a problem with that either. =P

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

I thought nightcrawlers dad was sabertooth they revealed that in the origins story's ??? it obviously changed but who is it ? i thought his mom was mystique and his dad was sabertooth

splinter on Feb 11, 2011

its not nightcrawer, its Azazel

mgrouchy on Feb 10, 2011

Actually i don't think Nightcrawler's slated to be in this one, the guy in the trailer is Azazel his dad

Marksd99 on Feb 11, 2011

Dan Arbiture on Feb 11, 2011

Its good that there is no wolverine as then the entire story revolves around him.

joshp on Feb 10, 2011

The Cuban missile crisis? I was expecting this to be some teenage mutant coming of age cheese fest. Instead we get something that looks epic and awesome. I just went from why the hell are they making this to cant wait to see it

Wheelz37 on Feb 10, 2011

did not expect this

Luigi on Feb 10, 2011

It looks ok. I like the darkness of it, but it looks a little too sleek for it's own good. But it does have potential and didn't give too much away

Moviekidmike on Feb 10, 2011

I like the way this whole story is turning out to be.

Omar Cavazos-Hi on Feb 10, 2011

Piss was never an option. LOL

lol on Feb 10, 2011

Finally! I trust Ashely Miller....but not Bryan Singer.

RandallM on Feb 10, 2011

Looks very good. I have full faith in Matthew Vaughn and McAvoy and Fassbender appear to be really solid choices. The mystique effect looked nice too.

Andreas Climent on Feb 10, 2011

Ron on Feb 11, 2011

Interesting this feels like what the X-men should have been. Super Heroes, loving the blue and yellow costumes

NeoSlyfer26 on Feb 11, 2011

I'm finally excited for the X again! After the first x-men movie all the others even wolverine and most other marvel offerings besides ironman have been pretty weak, this actually looks... Awesome!

Furious911 on Feb 11, 2011

Wow, I went in not even wanting to like it, but now I can't wait.

Nick and the big bad B on Feb 11, 2011

At least I'm not selling out. Looks pretty basic not too mention I can't get over the horrible placement in time of the characters. Gues ya just gotta view it as a reboot with a different story. Think they could have redesigned the helmet though. lol

tra la la la la di da on Feb 11, 2011

Yeah I'd have to agree with you on the mood, and the style is awesome! I too didn't expect much from this, but I've changed my mind.

Cruzer on Feb 11, 2011

I just ate my words, I went from not interested to holy shit I need to see this, looks epic

Max s. on Feb 11, 2011

Very nice trailer. Hope the rest of the movie has something interesting to show too.

Manuel on Feb 11, 2011

Dude Cold War + X-Men / Mathew Vaughn this looks better than all of the other X-men films

Guy on Feb 11, 2011

You really can't go wrong with Mcavoy and Fassbender... they alone make this completely badass.

Guy on Feb 11, 2011

I honestly didn't know what to expect. I never followed up on any production details or anything. I always knew I'd see it but I wasn't overly excited. But now I'm overexcited for this. That trailer looked fucking awesome.

ZigityZach on Feb 11, 2011

I'm probably gonna see this film. But it bugs the hell out of me that they are using a SR-71 Blackbird in this film, when historically the plane didn't exist during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I know this film is a work of fiction, but common guys... get your facts straight!

Technoguy25 on Feb 11, 2011

Also, the diameter of an sr-71 fuselage is 5.3 ft, but they have plenty of room to stand up with head room. Not to mention, the sr-71's magical new hovering abilities. Plus, at least five other mistakes off the top of my head, but what can you do.

carestoomuch on Feb 11, 2011

Yeah! Can you believe that!?!!? I mean come on...I can buy a man pulling a submarine from the ocean with magnetism...but a plane that is not actually an SR-71, just happens to look like one, designed by a man who can read minds...come on...that's just too much. ...sigh

Frank on Feb 11, 2011

Lets not forget how bad ass and epic X-men 3 trailer looked and it was total trash in theatres... With that I'm going to wait until I hear the reviews on this movie when it comes out before I run to the theatres and watch it.

BinaryChaos on Feb 11, 2011

ok this may be the first X-Men movie i will actually like....and i almost never gave this movie a chance.......

Jason Avery on Feb 11, 2011

Nice. I wasn't really all that excited about this, but after the trailer I'm sorta pumped.

Garrett Jamieson DeLozier on Feb 11, 2011

Umm, so I must admit I was one of the naysayers, ever since this movie was announced up to a couple minutes ago. Now I'm eating my words. Anyone got some garlic salt and parsley?

alfredo on Feb 11, 2011

Love the cast, Vaughn won me over with Kick-Ass. This trailer was great, very much looking forward to seeing this.

Quazzimotto on Feb 11, 2011

Makes me wish there was no X3

Boon on Feb 11, 2011

damn this actually looks pretty good!....

leo on Feb 11, 2011

Better than expected, but still seems played out already. We'll see. Rose Byrne is pretty much my interest point.

Jackson on Feb 11, 2011

cinemabandit on Feb 11, 2011

Holy.....crap.......this is gonna be awesome

Dkellenbox on Feb 11, 2011

Its gonna be an epic.

Aniruddha Chowkidar on Feb 11, 2011

YAY! I'm first! To not be impressed. The overused techno song, quick edits, and the lack of hinting at real friendship between Charles and Eric made me cautious. Thought we were getting a fresh start with the origins of the X-Men; instead we got an a-typical "crisis" plot, "safe" characters/powers from the first 3 films, and the same old tired political stare down/banter between Charles and Eric. Plus having to re-use footage from the first movie to "introduce" the main characters is a giant red flag.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

Trying too hard to be edgy with the choppy & boring MTV editing. The trailer gave away the whole movie. Looks like any other x men film to me. But hey, geek away fanboys.

Brandon on Feb 11, 2011

And you can continue to be a dick. All is fair I guess.

All Fanboys Are Geeks It Seems on Feb 11, 2011

John Doe on Feb 13, 2011

Looks WAY better then i had expected it to be.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

Hmmmm... the trailer is not very good, but not that bad either. I'll watch it because, well it's @#$%ing X-MEN!... and I hope it will make up for x3 and wolverine.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

Im impressed! The recent photos were filling me with dread but after this im looking forward to it a hellnof a lot more. Just as long as the story and action are better than the previous films

Cable on Feb 11, 2011

My sentiments EXACTLY!

John Doe on Feb 13, 2011

Hrmmmmm....meh, I'll have to check it out.

!5AAK on Feb 11, 2011

I went from 'meh' to 'can't wait'-but trailers always lie nowadays, let's just hope this film doesn't make me....angry

David Banner on Feb 11, 2011

I hear you brother.

John Doe on Feb 13, 2011

Hey. Looks Promising. Anyone know what the song is?

Viralamazon on Feb 11, 2011

Hey, I'm very impressed with the scenes involving Magneto, and my bet on this one has always been James X. McCavoy. I didn't like the use of clips of the previous movies. This should stand by itself and being told as a separate story. Among the great filmmakers nowadays, Mathew Vaughn is one of my favorites, so, this should turn out OK.

Leinergroove on Feb 11, 2011

omg i sooo cant wait for more it looked reallyyyyy goodddddddd 🙂 🙂 🙂

Storm_tribe1984 on Feb 11, 2011

omg i sooo cant wait for more it looked reallyyyyy goodddddddd 🙂 🙂 🙂

Storm_tribe1984 on Feb 11, 2011

Everything looked fine till I saw evidence that they changed my personal favorite xmen character. Instead of angel having wing and being a dude. They changed his character and made him a chick with insect wings. How many times can Marvel approve such shotty script writing and gender character changes why not make proffesor x black and magneto mexican. Reason why Iron Man did so well was because it stuck close to the story and appealed to fans because thats what we wont. Im tired of hollywood destroying the comic books I read as a kid and grew up watching.

BLKstar on Feb 11, 2011

I hate to tell you this but its not the same comic book you read as a kid. No masks, no stretch pants and no emo aliens. Stop talking about your failed childhood.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

I don't think that was angel, I think that was one of the newer characters from the comics, Pixie or something, I do wish they would stick closer to the time line though. I'm not too impressed. I'll wait for the reviews myself.

Staatz on Feb 11, 2011

Whoooa, yeah with the majority here....I did not see that coming.

Cody W. on Feb 11, 2011

It gave me chills.

Anonymous on Feb 11, 2011

WHAAAAT! I did not expect this. Very nice.

David 123 on Feb 11, 2011

bout time we had a decent X men flick! cant wait!

mochonko on Feb 11, 2011

The trailer is pretty cool, but I am worried because there are too many guys in the screenwrite

BaSs1L on Feb 11, 2011

That too also concerns me.

John Doe on Feb 13, 2011

looks fucking awesome cant wait to see it, they finally got Magneto's helmet right....

Del on Feb 12, 2011

Only one thing to say....SR-71 BLACKBIRD Original X-Jet!!!!!! OMG!!!!!

Docteur Baron on Feb 12, 2011

could have been better but i guess itll do and i like the music 😀

A5J4DX on Feb 12, 2011

What did you guys expect? It has to look good at least as good as the Xmen movies. How January Jones' character and mystic change is so lame, I am not happy about that but the rest is ok.

Gh on Feb 12, 2011

Man that music is awesome... does anyone know where one might get their hands on it?

Mark Lair on Feb 12, 2011

this looks awesome. plus mcavoy and fassbender are two of my favorite actors, so yeah, i'm sold.

liyan on Feb 12, 2011

I'm a sucker for when they blend fiction and non fiction, especially when it includes the cold war. This looks like it could be very good.

Rickvanr on Feb 12, 2011

I have to say, Well, it just looks terrible.

Glen on Feb 12, 2011

Now that the trailer is out... Everybody, just swallowed their own shit back in their mouth. Since they were talking so much of it.

i have no name on Feb 12, 2011

Yeah, I'll admit, I was one of the shit talkers. The trailer looks good. But even though the trailer 'looks good' does not mean it will be good. I remember everybody saying how good the X3 trailer looked too.

John Doe on Feb 13, 2011

x2 was one of the best comic book movies ever made and by far the best in the series, it was ruined by x3 but its nice to see theyve gotten back in the right direction

Yourmail on Feb 13, 2011

LastB on Feb 13, 2011

Crap this looks good. I thought the X-men movies were alright, but nothing great, but this looks really impressive. Sometimes you just need a fresh start.

NelsonSmith on Feb 13, 2011

I love the accent of McAvoy in this! and the music

Gh on Feb 14, 2011

Looks like Matthew Vaughn has made another great movie.

mike on Feb 15, 2011

did i see night crawler!!! yes!!!

Tekail on Feb 17, 2011

What the hell are you people talking about??? I WAS excited to see this movie until I saw the first photos and trailer. I really like James M. and he's a good actor, but this looks like popcorn crap... If you're going to do an "origin" story... and people are getting tired of origins (even though I like a couple of the recent ones), don't make that cheesy shit...I'm not sold at all...wake up people! Looks like a wannabe summer flic and not true to the story or the characters. The story HAD MAJOR potential, but it's gonna do what X-Men 3 and Wolverine did...i'm willing to bite my tongue later...and i would very much like to, but this looks bad

infra on Feb 22, 2011

Anything looks better than Marvels' Captain America. I haven't been impressed by that movie so far. Too many lame jokes and cheesy factor in that by what they have shown already. This one at least looks interesting and the subject matter seems to have been taken more seriously. What I enjoyed about The X-Men was the fact that it was more serious. I will probably pay the money to see this one.
