True Legend Trailer

Two brothers, one legend. Indomina Releasing has debuted the official US trailer on Apple for kung fu master Yuen Woo-Ping's newest martial arts epic True Legend, starring Man Cheuk Chiu, Xun Zhou and Michelle Yeoh. This is the awesome martial arts epic that I've been raving about since seeing it (with the legend Yuen Woo-Ping in attendance) last year at Fantastic Fest. This trailer is such a great sell, too - the way it builds and the music at the end. I can't wait to see this again and add it to my growing martial arts DVD collection, as I'll rewatch it over and over. If you love kung fu, you've got to check this out. Kick ass!

Su Qi-Er (Man Cheuk Chiu) is a wealthy man living during the Qing Dynasty who loses his fortune and reputation as a result of a conspiracy against him. After being forced out onto the streets, Su dedicates his life to martial arts and reemerges as a patriotic hero known as the "King of Beggars." That's quite a plot.

True Legend is directed by Chinese filmmaker and legendary martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping, who has directed numerous movies including Iron Monkey, Fist of the Red Dragon, and The Red Wolf. The script was written by To Chi-Long, of Blood Brothers, Jet Li's Fearless and Murderer previously. Indomina Releasing is bringing True Legend to limited theaters in the US starting May 13th. Who's going to see it!?

I've had this movie for almost a year now, and it's good in parts, but seem to be overly dramatic towards the end, especially between the main character and his son. But good overall choreography, I prefer non-wire work, but most of these movies used this now, except the martial arts films from Korea and Thailand.

It kinda looks like a modern take on the older style of weird-ass kung-fu flicks from the 70's. The higher budgeted ones, not the cheap ones you can get in those 50-packs of kung-fu movies on DVD...

Is that Pai Mei (white Lotus)? Also this movie must've been stuck in post-production limbo for ages or David Carradine has some serious kung fu meditating powers

I'm glad movies like True Legend and Ip Man are finding their way into US theaters. I sure hope these movies find their niche and do well enough in the box office so distributors can bring more in the future.
