Adèle Blanc-Sec

"This is the story of Adèle Blanc-Sec and her quest for the power of life over death." Yep, French filmmaker Luc Besson has another action adventure film that he directed already finished and released, but it hasn't hit the US yet and I'm not sure it ever will. The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec stars Louise Bourgoin as Adèle Blanc-Sec, basically a female Indiana Jones who gets into some adventures in the early part of the 20th century involving a pterodactyl, mummies and more. We've featured a few trailers for this before, but this is the latest official UK trailer thanks to LoveFilm (via HeyUGuys). Check it out below!

Watch the official UK trailer for The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec from YouTube:

The story is about Adèle Blanc-Sec (played by Louise Bourgoin), an "an intrepid young reporter" who will go to any lengths to achieve her aims, including sailing to Egypt to tackle mummies of all shapes and sizes. The film is written and directed by French filmmaker Luc Besson, of La Femme Nikita, The Professional and The Fifth Element. This is based on Jacques Tardi's classic comic books, which is where the pterodactyl storyline and adventurous spirit of Adèle Blanc-Sec come from. This was already released in most of Europe last year, but still doesn't have a US distributor. We'll let you know if it ever gets released. Who's curious?

i already saw it, like 3 months ago, on my pc. it's a funny movie, but is weirdly funny cuz, people die, some fantastic creatures are killed and there's a topless of bourgoin in a bathtub so i guess it's not for children. but i liked it.

So Pterodactyl's sound like Eagle's? That was odd...so odd that I'm fascinated! French films are relatively crazy, recently watched "The City of Lost Children" Perlman was great in it and the film was strange...I'm in.

It's really good Xerxexx, and "The City of Lost Children", man that is a classic, they don't make em like that any more for sure.

I'm definitely gonna check this out when I get the chance. Speaking of City of Lost Children, did you know Perlman actually hit the little girl that played Miette? The scene when the Octopus gets One under their control the first slap Miette got was real, Perlman caught her off guard and knocked the bejesus out of her.

Mad, she does get super sad when he turns, now I know why. My mate from Spain's friend animated the little bug with the poison in it, that's how I first ended up seeing it at the cinema. Going to have to watch it again now!

There's no one speaking in the trailer because it's a UK trailer of a French movie -- no one digs subtitles in a trailer. 🙂

I'll stick with Indiana Jones, much better than this cheesy crap.
