Win Win Trailer

Fox Searchlight has finally debuted the official trailer on Apple for one of their Sundance sensations, Tom McCarthy's Win Win, starring Paul Giamatti as a down-on-his-luck high school wrestling coach. Also in the cast: Amy Ryan, Jeffrey Tambor, Melanie Lynskey, Bobby Cannavale and Alex Shaffer. This looks like, and has been referred to by people who've seen it, as The Blind Side but as a much better indie comedy with Paul Giamatti. Essentially, Giamatti takes in a young kid and helps mold him into a star athlete. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about this from everyone who saw it, but unfortunately missed it. Check it out!

Disheartened attorney Mike Flaherty (Giamatti) who moonlights as high school wrestling coach, stumbles across a star athlete through some questionable business dealings while also trying to support his family.

Win Win is both written & directed by actor/filmmaker Tom McCarthy, who previously directed The Station Agent and The Visitor. McCarthy also wrote the story with Joe Tiboni. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last month. Fox Searchlight will be bringing Win Win to limited theaters March 18th. Thoughts?

I like it, looks good. Agreed that the trailer shows way too much, but this storyline is fairly predictable, but I'm still gonna check it out, Giamatti is a great actor and he sold me on it.

agreed - even if the story is somewhat predictable, when it looks like it's been done well, i'm for it. giamatti is perfect for the "down-on-his-luck" guy and i think i'm going to like the relationship between him and the wrestling phenom. ( i also like the subtle way the humor is delivered)

Listen, all you fan-boy know-it-alls...most of you are too young and stupid to realize how this is going to KICK BUTT. While you're at it, go watch the Station Agent and The Visitor for a hint of what a great talent McCarthy is...Oh, it doesn't have any CGI or stupid Cloverdale (now, that's a stupid name for a flick) monsters, so never mind.

wow only a few have been negative towards the film, cool your jets. Cloverfield was actually a badass name.

I never thought a film that contained High-School wrestling would spark an interest in my head, but it did. I'll watch this for sures when it comes out. I suppose these days they have to show the whole film in case people get the wrong impression what the film is about, just so they know it will work out a bit in the end.

It really is a good movie. Paul is great and Alex does pretty good for a first timer

Looks really cool. Will be interested to see how the relationship between the mother and son play out (something i don't think the trailer gave too much away in) and how the film handles the nature nurture debate.
