He's back! Peter Jackson took to his Facebook once again to, first, inform everyone that there will not be any presentation/footage for The Hobbit showing up at Comic-Con this week and, secondly, let everyone know that instead, he's released another fantastic 13-minute (the longest one yet!) video blog for all of us to watch. It was only just a few weeks ago that he premiered his second blog, focused on location scouting in New Zealand and "block 1" of shooting, but this one is better than the last two. This time, we finally get to see lots of shooting and action and dwarves running around, plus hear from many of the actors, it's so good.
Watch the third video blog for The Hobbit below, and head to his Facebook page to see it in HD:
In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit… The Hobbit, being directed by Peter Jackson in two separate parts, is set in Middle-earth 60 years before Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in a trilogy ten years ago. The Hobbit films, with screenplays by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson, will be shot consecutively in digital 3D using the latest camera and stereo technology. The Hobbit follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. The first part of The Hobbit hits theaters December 2012.

"Who is that odd little fellow" there is legitimately something about these films that does make me get choked up, smile and almost shed a tear.ย

Never has there been a film so genuinely happy to invite its fans along for the ride during production. This man (and team) are going out of their way to give us exactly what we want. Already three 10+ minute video blogs are out and they've only just finished one fifth of filming. Incredible.

NOW they look dwarves. When I saw the production photos they looked very odd with those beards. But seeing them in action, they look fantastic!

Aye, feel the eyes glaze over now ๐ Makes you wonder, The Hobbit being 2 movies of a 'short' book; what if Lord of The Rings were 6 movies of 3-4h each? The books were first 6, then later squeezed into 3. Ofc 1 whole movie, if not more, would be only running ๐ Even though many lines of dialogue were given to other characters and some left out, one can dream that there is a possibility that even more can be added to the 3ย LotR movies in the future instead.... Now that was offtopic. These small behind the scenes tidbits are just brilliant, makes it harder and harder to wait for that release date!

Pure magic, what an incredible world. Love these blogs, it's really great to have a glimpse backstage. Especially before the release and not as an extra on the dvd/bluray ๐

The battle for 2012 commences. Both will be two different types of movies, but who wins? The Dark Knight Rises vs The Hobbit I don't see any other movie that will top these two.
