The Heineken Kidnapping

Recently the iconic Blade Runner star got down and dirty starring in the darkly funny and bloody romp Hobo with a Shotgun, but Rutger Hauer is also in a more conventional thriller from the Netherlands. The Heineken Kidnapping tells the story of Alfred Heineken, the man who would build the beer empire of the same name. However, rather that following his rise to success and riches, the movie chronicles three weeks in November of 1983, when Heineken, along with his driver, was kidnapped and held captive. Sadly the trailer below isn't in English (but does have subtitles), but the visuals alone make this look damn good.

Here's the full trailer for The Heineken Kidnapping courtesy of Twitch:

The Heineken Kidnapping is directed by Maarten Treurniet who also co-wrote the script with Kees van Beijnum. This is the duo's second collaboration after working on another Dutch film called Father's Affair. Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Batman Begins) stars in the film with a Dutch cast bringing this true story to life on the big screen. As of now the film is not slated for release in the United States, but will hit screens in the film's homeland of the Netherlands on October 27th. Stay tuned for more updates.

The visuals are fine, but geez, the dutch acting lacks practically everything. I 've seen quite a bit of dutch movies/series, but the actors always ruin it for me.

Bit of the dialogue translated: When the 'gangsters' are sitting to gether: 'He goes out every night, at the same time', 'We have to ask 100 million' - 'Thats way to much, you can't carry that'. Then Rutger in his cell and scene with his serious face 'They held me hostage, for 3 weeks, without any heating and made me shit in a camping toilet. We paid 35 million for that. They will have no rest anymore, ever! Back to the gangsters: They are on to us, we have to pick up the money. And than some scene's of Rutger telling he wants payback.

For the people that do not speak dutch this might look good. The dialogue is shitty and puts me off. This movie wasn't on my map, and after this trailer it will never be...

Yeah, it looks pretty bad... The Dutch are stepping up their game recently but this is not it. Dialogue is horrible, acting is even worse.
