"A new species is being born… help me guide it, shape it, lead it." 20th Century Fox has debuted a full theatrical trailer on Yahoo for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, another one of the big superhero movies due out this summer. Ever since Fox unleashed that first trailer back in February, many people seem to be very excited for this, and the new trailer should just top that off. It's more of the same, plus some new shots, but it still looks great. James McAvoy plays Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender is Magneto, with: January Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Lucas Till & Edi Gathegi.

You can also watch the new X-Men: First Class trailer in High Def on Yahoo
Update: We've added another new trailer, as Bleeding Cool posted a longer international version of the trailer that actually contains lots of new footage, so watch that directly below here (embed via ComingSoon)!
Watch the new international trailer for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class:
Before Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) took the names Professor X & Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for their first time, even working together as friends.
X-Men: First Class is directed by British director Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake, Stardust and Kick-Ass. Bryan Singer, director of X-Men 1 and 2, is producing and wrote the story. The screenplay was written by quite a few writers, including Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl" & "Chuck"), Jamie Moss (Street Kings), Ashley Miller ("Fringe", Thor), Zack Stentz, and finally Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass). Marv Films & 20th Century Fox will be bringing X-Men: First Class to theaters everywhere starting June 3rd this summer. Excited yet?

I'm just not feeling it...I mean the cast is great...but so far the trailers haven't wowed me...I'm still gonna give it a chance though.

im not feeling it either man.. it just seems.. weak.. repetitive (in regards to previous x-men movies).. and frankly not entertaining enough for it JUST be entertainment. Tron: Legacy is an example of a movie that was just entertaining even if you didnt know the whole story. this just wont cut it

So bored....and the fact that they totally created plot holes for the other three, not that those should be considered as anything anyways. X-men is the biggest disappointment in comic movies. I know I know, Daredevil, Elektra, etc but if you had hope for those you're beyond lost.

Yea, halfway through I was ready to abandon the trailer but I felt that I already watched half I might as well finish.

Gonna have to humbly disagree...think this is the best one yet. I actually want to see it now.

At least this one was better than every one prior. Better music, more footage, better editing. I have the expectation that this will be better than all three previous X-Men movies. And I was pretty impressed with the first one, especially Wolverine's reveal. I mean, the first time he let those claws out was the live-action-movie realization of one of the most popular characters in fiction, and it was pretty cool. I'm excited to see the REAL Magneto, no offense to Ian McKellen, who was great as Gandalf.

I'll give it that for sure, it did a great job selling the film. I'll wait and see.

Think how many films have so, so trailers but an awesome finished product. I agree with you, this new trailer really doesn't seem excite me either, but I have a feeling it the actual film will be so much better.

Good point Day. I remember being thoroughly disgusted at the trailer for THE IRON GIANT--only to be blown away by the film itself. And then there are those films that have stupendous trailers, but come up short. Everyone remember THE PHANTOM MENACE?

At least you're going to give it a shot, Xerxexx. Gotta give you props for that. Me? Well, I am interested in it, especially the setting and also with the Cuban Missile Crisis as a plot point. I'll definitely see it, because that's the only way to judge a movie.

The CMC is a great plot device, and its a selling point, that and Jason Flemyng as Azazel.

Are you crazy? January Jones is smokin' hot, who would you recommend? Have to agree on Mystique, though, Jennifer Lawrence doesn't have the right features. Olivia Wilde would look good in the part, though.

Instead of including several randomly chosen mutants whose names that they picked out of a hat, they should have included the other main Hellfire Club members from the comic books.
Hugo Grant on Apr 27, 2011
33
Hugo, maybe they have included them. They probably didn't show them in the trailers except for Kevin Bacon as Shaw. Besides, the film's been written, shot, and is now in post-production. A bit late to make any significant changes now to reflect the comic.

Do you know what that movie is called in german? X-Men First decision... Why the... would you change the title to a crappy one? Just leave it english... *rant* Sorry... but the trailer looks too great to be the victim of stupid marketing...

I'm liking this one already because it doesn't revolve around Wolverine. You got claws, you heal fast, you're badass, we get it already.

Fassbender as Magneto is slowly winning me over. As a total Xmen nerd, I wish the character line up had been a bit more thought out. Who cares about Mystique anymore, I mean really.

Alex! I want to ask you something. If this didn't have the 'X-Men' as it's title and was a brand new franchise, do you feel it'd be perceived better? I'm absolutely neutral when it comes to X-Men, so I have zero anticipation for this....

I'm going to see this just because Kevin Bacon is in it! He plays the best villians in movies! Other than that, it looks average, bring on Thor next week!

Why is Mystic an X-Man? I can see no Wolverine but where's Iceman, Angel, Cyclops and Jean Grey? WTF? Looks like something I'd fall asleep to by the second act. In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "Must Miss!"

Could be both, Fortress. Hell, I also had no interest at first, but it's won me over, slowly but surely. I do want to see it so I can at least give an INFORMED opinion about it. (And hell, Zoe Kravitz! January Jones! Jennifer Lawrence!)

I like the casting choices and director, but it only looks good, not great. I bet it'll be the third best superhero movie behind Green Lantern and Captain America. Once the Green Lantern trailer premieres in front of Thor, then we'll get a better picture of what looks the best. My money is still on Green Lantern being the best superhero movie because of the credibility of actors on board, direction, and the almost finished effects which will be astounding. But anyway, First Class has promise and I hope for the best. I think everyone can agree that this will by far be better than The Last Stand. That movie was flat out awful.
SeanJ8 on Apr 27, 2011
58
Sean, you've made the best, most sensible comment so far. Although...well, I really don't know which superhero movie will come out on top. I want ALL of them to do well (and THOR is getting a lot of positive reviews, so....). I guess the only thing to do is wait and see, and hope for the best.

I have a feeling this could potentially erase the last trilogy of X-Men movies, and although I enjoyed where Singer was going, this could be better. My only concern is if in not having Cyclops, Jean Grey, Ice-Man and Angel (along with Beast) as the sole original crew members will this movie ruin it overall or is it just going to bother me and fellow comic history lovers. I guess if the movie turns out good that's good enough.

I was disappointed when Singer skipped out on X-Men 3 and then the plot just turned left and went off into it's own lala land... So when I first heard another one was in production I had no interest. Singer's involvement made me a bit curious, first trailer was alright, but these too actually make me excited to see it. Michael Fassbender is also extremely charismatic and I'm pretty sure I'd watch him read a dictionary and enjoy it.

My only issue is Havok. He was Cyclops' younger brother, for god's sake! If you want to keep continuity with the other films, then they shouldn't even be born yet, since Cyclops was a teenager in the 80s as seen in Origins: Wolverine. I can understand everything else, but WHY BREAK UP THE GREATEST MUTANT FAMILY LIKE THAT?! They better have a REALLY good, Earth-shattering, JFK-CONSPIRACY-FINALLY-REVEALED-TO-THE-PUBLIC reason for putting him in like that. He should have been in Three after his brother's death. Would have made it go down easier.

This one helped me fall in love with comics all over again. Depth of characters, visuals, good vs evil, clever script writing, very nice...
