"It is not the destination so much as the journey." Disney has debuted an extremely exciting (you'll see what I mean when you watch it) new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, director Rob Marshall's latest installment in the epic series starring Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. We've already seen a teaser that was basically a trailer and an awesome SuperBowl spot, but this my friends, ohhhh this is quite a wonderful trailer to behold. I don't know how anyone could't be excited to see this after that! No Orlando Bloom, but Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Gemma Ward instead and damn does it look quite fun.

You can see the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides trailer in High Definition on Yahoo
Jack Sparrow (Depp) and Barbossa (Rush) embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth hinted at the end of At World's End, only to learn that Blackbeard (McShane) and his daughter are after it, too.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is directed by Oscar nominated director Rob Marshall, whose only previous directing credits are Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha and the musical Nine. The screenplay was once again written by franchise regulars Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, based on Tim Power's book On Stranger Tides. Disney is bringing Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to theaters in 3D starting on May 20th this summer!

Rob Marshall did a fine job!!! No wonder it is so rhythmic and has the right pace!! Can't wait for the sountrack Sexy and dangerous Mermaids!!! YES!!!! Now, the only disappointment is that Cruz girl, why did Rob want to include her in this? We know it's because of Nine she is in. Frankly, it could have been better without her. When Jack asks her to repeat again what she says...shows that perfectly! I am not questioning her acting ability or her accent...I just think that they could have chosen somebody else. How about Salma Hayek?...Yes Sir!!! Big bombs to fit this gorgeous girl!

Yes, I have my doubts about Cruz too, but I'll give her a chance. Anyway, I'm more interested in Sparrow and Blackbeard ๐ she can't spell doom all by herself.

How to describe this trailer? Crazy!

Lacked both the iconic shots and epicness to make me want to see a fourth installment.

It isn't bad, but it's bland. Admit it doesn't give you any OMG! shots for being the fourth part in this series. So, it feels sort of bland. At least to me. But that critisiscm is directed towards this trailer -- not the film in itself.

The last shot with Keith Richards was awesome.

Was waiting for something really stand-out but it just wasn't happening. Felt like you could have edited most of those shots into the other three films and no-one would have noticed. Guess I'm just not one of those people who'll get excited simply because it's a PotC trailer.

LMAO, every other trailer described here is either "epic" or "awesome" or "badass." enough already. http://thesaurus.com/

Alex gets paid to hype every trailer. What gets more traffic? "trailer for (x) movie" or "epic trailer for (x) movie"? Yea. Or maybe the dude is just really hard for movie trailers.

LOL. Too true. Every movie is epic, badass, incredible, too awesome for words, etc etc......paid by Hollywood to push mostly blah movies. Only a handful in a year are even worth going to see.

A hundred times better than the first trailer! Now I'm definitely in.

OK....I am sold. Ian McShane is worth the price of admission.

http://www.cracked.com/article_16822_7-historical-figures-who-were-absurdly-hard-to-kill.html This is why I will always be disappointed in any movie with a Blackbeard who is actually kind of cool-- because he wasn't. He was gnarly and legendarily evil.

This isnt a 2min and 19 seconds long trailer, Its half the damned movie! Meh!

Like other people said... it's just so plain. There's nothing iconic or awesome about this trailer. Also, the amount of blatant gimmick 3D shots are disgusting.

Watching this trailer got me thinking: Geoffrey Rush and Ian McShane are amazing actors. And has Penelope Cruz ever acted in a movie without doing her native Spanish accent? It seems like not, but I haven't seen her entire filmography.

That's the only way she can speak english. Seriously she can't fake an american or British accent whatsoever, I mean come on she can barely get her english together with her accent. It's a common problem in Spain.

Iยดm not excited about this. Everything but epic, btw. The scond and third gave me better vibes watching the trailer (finally, it turned out that the third was pretty long and boring), but anyway, extremely low expectations about Pirates 4.

Being familiar with film, I can say that this film is done very much in the veign of the first one. The needless over-the-top FX are cast aside for great storytelling. The narrative is strong and simple. Not complicated or overbloated like that last two. The comedy is brilliant and consistent all throughout. This film has a lot of great humour in it, without ever feeling silly/kiddy funny. And the best effects (i.e. the backwards running waterfalls of the Fountain of Youth, the full visuals of the more piranha/sharkesque looking mermaids, the Black Pearl caught in a sea storm while magically trapped in a bottle, and the battle sequences that involve ginormous Spanish ships). This film is definitely worth it.

After watching the second installment, I had lost interest. But this looks really good. For one, it appears it has a story you can actually follow. That last scene with Keff was hilarious.

Those of you here, who commented negativly about this movie, needs to realize a few things, and they are............ 1) It has the originallity of the first movie. 2) Depp + Cruz + Rush + McShane + Richards = Success. 3) No over doing of the plot/story and not too much CGI involved. 4) 2 hours and 21 minute running time is better for Pirates 4 that it has, rather then the 2 hour 30 minute runing time of Pirates 2, and the 2 hour 45 minute running time of Pirates 3. 5) And most importantly, No Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Those two up too much screen time, from everyone else in Pirates 2 and Pirates 3.

I wouldn't mind James McAvoy in Orlando's place.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Thank God the producers went back to the feel of the original film. Because #2 and #3 were a complete mess. And not fun at all. Also, what's with all the anti Penelope Cruz talk? What's wrong with her? Clearly you haven't seen any of her Spanish films. She's a fantastic actress.

the second one was fun too, however the third was pretty long, and drawn out

Yes, you know what ? , you're completely right ! I think enjoyed the second one more. But when i saw the third one i liked it then, but now i don't. And i think that might be because the fourth looks alot more like the second one ๐ , which in my opinion, is a good thing, and it even seems like it will be somewhat, or more then somewhat like the first movie as well ! ๐ .

I'm excited for McShane's Blackbeard. Am I alone in thinking this franchise could have been a lot funnier with Steve Coogan playing Jack's brother? Eh? There could have been some interesting scenes between those two.

Snoozefest. Big budget production trailer product at the most uninspiring. There wasnt anything in the trailer that doesnt seem like what i endured the last 2 movies, which were utterly diappointing themselves after a pretty great first film. Is it wrong that ive had just about enough of Jack Sparrow? Depp is geat but the character has run its course for me.

Not seeing Keira Knigthley and Orlando Bloom is enough for me...

Yes, good point you've made there. I am sick and tired of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in the POTC movies ! I am so glad they are not in this one !

Not a bad trailer, but it still didn't drive me crazy. It's missing the amazing visual effects the franchise is well-known for. As of right now, this movie feels like a cake without the frosting.

man what a snooze fest. i also enjoy how they have managed to extend the bloated and unnecessary aspects of the films to the trailers. one can only hope for a three and half minute trailer for Pirates V

Looks like a remix trailer from the previous films. So they're after the fountain of youth...what the hell for? It's not like any of them need it.

Looks like great fun which is surprising. Last one was terrible. This one looks like it goes back to the quality of first movie. Cruz is a great substitute for Knightley. At least she has a body.
