Red Tails

"I'm the best pilot in the whole damn army!" Another new trailer that debuted during Spike TV's Scream Awards last night is for Lucasfilm's Red Tails, the WWII action drama about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squad during WWII. We've already seen a lot of trailers for this movie already, but I'm loving this, it has a classic action movie vibe to it and it's packed—and I mean packed—full of awesome moments and some of the greater bits of dialogue. The film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Method Man, David Oyelowo and others. Fire it up, this looks great!

Watch the latest official TV trailer for Anthony Hemingway's Red Tails, via Spike TV:

The story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squad during WWII.

Red Tails is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Anthony Hemingway, making his feature directing debut after lots of TV work on HBO, including extended work as the first assistant director on "The Wire". The screenplay was written by John Ridley (Undercover Brother, "Barbershop", "The Wanda Sykes Show") from a screenstory credited to George Lucas. This was produced by Lucasfilm and Partnership Pictures, shot in Hawaii and California. Red Tails arrives in theaters January 20th, 2012 next year. Watch the full trailer.

Visually some of the cleanest CGI I've seen. However I would have liked to have seen some character interaction. I'll watch it!

Soooo much CGI lmao. I hope we get some character interaction that's better than the Prequals but I have to say I'm excited to see it.

Looks like so much over top action might undermine the integrity of the historical meaning behind the movie.

Luv it! Thank George!

The action looks great, and I've been dying for a WW2 aerial dogfight movie for, well, as long as I can remember. But I am worried about the stereotypical race humor, especially given the writer's previous credits. Not that I'm climbing on a soapbox and preaching about political correctness -- I just think that kind of humor makes for forgettable movies.
