Journey 2: The Mysterious Island 3D Trailer

"Who's up for an adventure?" WB/New Line has just debuted the first "teaser trailer" for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the 3D adventure follow-up to 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth. Yes, they somehow made a sequel. While this doesn't look as bad as the first movie, it still looks insanely cheesy and filled to the brim with mediocre CGI. Josh Hutcherson returns, joined by Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzmán as the comic relief, and somehow Michael Caine as his grandfather adventurer lost on the mysterious island. Despite his charm simply by being tere, this looks as awful as expected. Enjoy!

Young adventurer Sean receives a distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist — a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is directed by newcomer Brad Peyton, of WB's Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore previously. The screenplay is by cousins Brian Gunn & Mark Gunn, of "2gether: The Series", Gayosity and "PG Porn" episodes previously. This was shot partially in Hawaii. New Line/Warner Bros will be bringing Journey 2: The Mysterious Island to theaters in 3D everywhere on February 10th next year.

So, looking for grampa/island, hires a duff chopper, crashes on island, island full of stuff, island implodes, escape on fantastical 'sub'. Well, that saved me a few quid. Cheers.

the CGI looks good, i mean nothing to compare to "King Kong" which is what this island is reminding me so much of. But id definitely go see it...and yea it does look better than the first film. However I am not a big fan, nor not a fan at all of Josh Hutcherson...horrible actor.

I enjoyed the 1st one with my kids. But I think I will wait for dvd to see this one. Especially cause I can't stand the Rock.

Timnimbus on Nov 10, 2011

Avatar vs. Jurassic Park?, but bad

Damnnnnnn, Arnold bulked back up.  Why did he shave his head and why is he doing a kiddie flick.  Just kidding.  Love The Rock.  It would be great if he got a role as awesome as Vin's Riddick.  This new generation of action stars are awesome.

Borndevil on Nov 10, 2011

Man this looks 10 times better than the first one!Gotta love an island with awesome creatures!

This looks good and fun to see it in "Glorious 3D"! So far no childish comments whining about 3D! Yay! And if you're gonna comment like a whining child, too late! HA!

Jedibilly on Nov 10, 2011

It looks lame, but amusing. That Pec Pop of Love sold me at least. XD!
