"Where did he come from?" Just after Disney announced a 2012 release date for the film The Odd Life of Timothy Green, the first trailer has popped up online over at Trailer Addict. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton star in the family fantasy drama, along with CJ Adams as Timothy Green, a kid that comes from a box buried in their backyard. I'm not exactly sure what they're going for with this trailer, but it seems to have quite an epic feel to it (just watch, you'll see what I mean), like they're trying to play up that this kid is an alien or something. It looks interesting, but I'm not sold yet. Check out the Timothy Green trailer below.

An inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple who bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, their child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is both written and directed by Oscar nominated America filmmaker Peter Hedges, of Pieces of April and Dan in Real Life previously, as well as screenwriting work on What's Eating Gilbert Grape and About a Boy. The story is credited to musician Ahmet Zappa. Disney just scheduled The Odd Life of Timothy Green for release on August 15th, 2012 next summer. Look like it will be any good?

For some vague reason I was waiting for Kermit the frog to show up, It's that 'green' thing in the title I guess...

Looks like it might be worth a Redbox. I'm just happy to see an original story come outta Hollywood. Oh, not sure I agree with the alien theory though.

Have kids, so trailer brought a tear to my eye. No idea if it will be good, but still, tear to my eye. Reminded me of Second-Hand Lions.

Will it end well? I wonder if 1 of the notes were written slighty wrong and he dies in the end....

Bring a box of hankies just in case. Why do we all have a dread for the ending.

I'm going to say it! It should be called, "Kid in the Box"! The tagline..."IF YOU BURY IT...HE WILL COME!"

So THAT'S how babies are made! Always knew the whole "egg and fertilization" thing was a myth.

Alex, you'll be happy to learn that the song used at the end of the trailer (from about 1:00 on) is Jónsi's "Grow Till Tall," sans vocals. Can't believe I recognized it. I have to say, its a very fitting song.

Only DISNEY can get away with making a movie like this. It does look good though. The trailer caught my attention, gave me enough info and hooked me at the end. Well-done.
