"You mustn't go down into the basement." Magnet Releasing has unveiled their first official trailer via Apple for Ti West's The Innkeeepers, the new horror that we've been talking about recently as they debuted a gorgeous poster for it yesterday. Sara Paxton and Pat Healy star as the last two clerks closing out an old hotel that's said to be haunted. From there it gets very creepy, very quickly, so I'll let you get scared by how it all unfolds. This is a damn good trailer and it ends on such a perfectly freaky note, both musically and visually, if you caught all that they showed. Jeremy saw this at SXSW and quite liked it. Creep yourself out!
Watch the first official trailer for Ti West's The Innkeepers, in high definition from Apple:
After over one hundred years in business, The Yankee Pedlar Hotel is about to close its doors for good. The last remaining clerks, Claire (Paxton), a twenty something that has come to terms with her lot in life, and Luke (Healy), a computer-smart loner, are convinced that the hotel is haunted and are determined to prove it. As several strange occurrences begin to add up, both Claire and Luke must make the crucial decision on what to believe and what not to believe. The Innkeepers is written and directed by horror filmmaker Ti West, of Trigger Man, The Roost, Cabin Fever 2 and The House of the Devil previously. Magnet Releasing is releasing The Innkeepers in theaters on February 3rd, but it'll hit VOD starting December 30th first.

I liked how it started out quite like an almost 80's teen movie and went pretty scary toward the end.

Very effective trailer. I'm glad they're not exploiting Paxton's sex appeal for once đ

Looks actually scary, hopefully doesn't fall on it's face like "House of the Devil". Sara Paxton looks gorgeous.

yeah, looks pretty damn good. the music was a nice touch. I don't know what it is about that old-timey music, but it meshes so well with horror to create a real unnerving feeling.

I loved this movie. To death. But this trailer is horrible. It doesn't get the feel of the movie right at all, and it ruins every great scare in the film. But then again, if the trailer marketed the movie as it really is, most audiences would wait for it on DVD. I'm not saying you should wait for it on DVD. I'm saying that would be a stupid mistake, and you should definitely go watch it when it comes out. But if you haven't seen this trailer yet, skip it. I'm so glad I saw this without a clue of any of the scares, this movie gave me my first anxiety attack. The first half is so disarming that when the second half comes, you get knocked off your ass. That one shot in the trailer where the old guy is behind Sara Paxton at the top of the stairs? I hate that they ruined this scare, made the entire audience start screaming.

Ti West is a horror genuis! He doesn't get credit he deserves in hollyweird...The House of the Devil was an awesome, creepy film, too bad this movie wasn't released in theaters for halloween..shame!

House of the devil was okay but this looks so much better, Ti West gets a second chance.
