Watch: Today Now! Interviews 5-Year-Old Screenwriter of 'Fast Five'

Fast Five

Oh I really hope everyone sees the underlying joke within this, because it's so true! There's a hilarious video going around the web today showing an interview with Fast Five screenwriter Chris Morgan, but instead of the age-appropriate Hollywood writer you may be imaging, it's actually a 5-year-old kid. Get it? Good. Yep, this is credited to everyone's favorite comedic news source, The Onion. I'm not always the biggest fan, but sometimes they come up with some genius stuff and I have to say this is definitely one of those times. My favorite part: "oh, no spoilers!" And the part about sequels at the end. This is comedy brilliance. Enjoy!

Thanks again to THR/SlashFilm for posting about this, and The Onion for actually making it awesome. Fast Five will be hitting theaters this weekend, if you haven't seen the last official trailer, you can watch it here.

Fast Five is again directed by Taiwanese director Justin Lin, who previously helmed Better Luck Tomorrow, Spotlighting, Annapolis as well as Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and 2009's last sequel Fast & Furious. The screenplay was written by Chris Morgan, of Cellular, Wanted, Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious as well as the upcoming 47 Ronin. Universal is bringing Fast Five to theaters everywhere 3D on April 29th this summer.

I thought that was how they wrote most films in Hollywood.

What is up with the release schedules? I thought the US gets these movies before us in the UK? I watched Fast5 last week. I saw Thor on monday morning. I feel bad for you guys it's your films. Why we get them first is anyones guess. I implore you to see both fast 5 and thor. I really enjoyed them.

English dude said "implore."

Tyler Morgan on Apr 26, 2011

Yea, I think it's an inverse way of building buzz, like they let you see it so the summer kicks off big once everyone in the US finally gets to see these. I'm pretty damn anxious to see Thor, I can't wait!

I prefered that clip where they made fun of Iron Man, way funnier IMO.

Minister of Finance: Here is the Treasury Department's report, sir. I hope you'll find it clear. Rufus T. Firefly: Clear? Huh. Why a four-year-old child could understand this report. [to Bob Roland] Rufus T. Firefly: Run out and find me a four-year-old child, I can't make head or tail of it.
