Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg Are Reteaming for a Huge 'Turkey Bowl'

They teamed up for last year's action comedy The Other Guys (I don't care what anyone says, I enjoyed the hell out of it), and now Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are looking to team up again for another comedy. Deadline reports Warner Bros. has picked up a project called Turkey Bowl that will have Ferrell and Wahlberg playing guys from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging and trash-talking rights. The project was sold as a pitch, but "30 Rock" writers Robert Carlock and Scott Silveri will be behind the actual script with Ferrell and director Adam McKay producing.
Wahlberg will also produce the film, and apparently there's plans to have tons of cameos. Remember the news broadcaster gang fights in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy that had Ben Stiller, Tim Robbins and Luke Wilson show up? Well, the opportunity for those kinds of cameos are even more likely with entire football teams in the mix. And considering Derek Jeter showed up in The Other Guys, I'm willing to bet a few professional athlete cameos might be in order somehow. As someone who immensely enjoyed the unlikely pairing of Wahlberg and Ferrell last year, this sounds like another opportunity for some hearty laughs. What do you think?

Anderton I'm with you. Every time I watch "The Others Guys" I find something new to laugh at. For a PG13 comedy it was actually funny as hell! Wahlberg and Ferrell had great chemistry. This project reminds me a bit of the Robin Williams, Kurt Russle film "The Best of Times" that said, I'm very interested in the this film...sounds like it could be hilarious.

I agree with you on "The Other Guys". I always seem to find some new hilarious one liner every time I watch it. As for this film, I'm always in on a new Adam McKay/Ferrell project plus it's about football?! Sold!

You guys are right. I recently watched that a second time on Netflix and it was funnier than I remember. Also, those scenes where Michael Keaton keeps making TLC references "unwittingly" were a nice touch. He's one of my favorite actors, especially in his comedies.

Isnt this based on a movie? I could of sworn that there is a movie called Turkey Bowl, it's an indie and I think it was at last years sundace and it's about the same thing.

The best part of the other guys was when Dereek Jeter got shot. Any movie that can possibly feature a New York Yankee getting shot has my interest & support.
