When Warner Bros. recently created their horror/genre label Primal Pictures, we told you about a few of their upcoming projects. One of them was Hidden, a horror thriller about a family who hides in a bomb shelter after escaping an outbreak. The script was once on the Black List and Warner Bros. beat out some tough competition to pick it up, so the studio is looking to get this one into production as quickly as possible. Now, Variety reports the film has found its leading man in "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard, so it would seem they're making big strides toward getting this one underway immediately.
Twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer wrote and will be directing Hidden in their feature directorial debut. Skarsgard has recently appeared in the remake of Straw Dogs and Lars von Trier's Melancholia, and he also stars in Peter Berg's upcoming board game adaptation Battleship opposite Liam Neeson and John Carter star Taylor Kitsch. There aren't many details out there about the film other than just the simple logline, but we've certainly seen a pretty solid outbreak movie (Contagion) and storm shelter movie (Take Shelter) in the last year, so let's hope this one can live up to those while adding a satisfying horror element.

Skarsgard sells it for me. I think he's a great actor that needs to branch out more.

He’s such an intense actor. If he’s in it, I’ll watch.
