Ben Stiller & Jonah Hill Say 'Aloha' to New Comedy from Shawn Levy
This week Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill are hitting the big screen together by taking on an alien invasion in The Watch, but the two comedy stars are already planning to work together again. THR reports Stiller and Hill are attached to star in a new comedy called Aloha with Date Night and Real Steel helmer Shawn Levy attached to direct, not to mention produce, with the two lead stars. The plot is being kept entirely under wraps at this point, but with the brief detail of "an island-set comedy" and that familiar title, I'm willing to bet that the film is set in Hawaii. And that seems fitting when you learn who wrote the screenplay. Read on!
Nicholas Stoller, who already brought a great amount of laughs to the island state with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is negotiating to write the script for the project that Fox picked up based on a pitch by Jonah Hill that was fleshed out with Levy and Stiller on the set of The Watch. Of course, while all three of these Hollywood heavyweights are attached, their official involvement will depend on Stoller's script and their schedules down the road. Knowing that Levy has R-rated comedy in the pipeline with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn reteaming for The Internship, having him team with Hill and Stiller sounds like a blast, especially if it promises more adult-oriented comedy, something Levy has clearly wanted to do for awhile.
