Bill Hader, Viola Davis & More Join 'Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby'
With Marvel's ambitious Phase Two officially getting underway at this year's Comic-Con, it's worth remembering that ambitious filmmaking is not reserved only for high-profile blockbusters. The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and Her is a good example, an independent project that tells the story of a troubled marriage through the husband and wife's point of view in two separate films. Jessica Chastain is starring alongside James McAvoy as the embattled couple, but now ScreenDaily reports Bill Hader, Oscar-nominee Viola Davis, William Hurt, and many more have now joined the cast. Read on!
Along with the aforementioned actors, Ciaran Hinds, Teeth star Jess Weixler, and French actress Isabelle Huppert have all signed on in as-yet-unknown roles. In addition, Broadway.com says that recent Tony Award winner Nina Arianda is in talks to join as the couple's therapist. It's always kind of a bummer when we don't have confirmation of which actor is playing which role, but at least it allows for some good speculation. McAvoy replaced Joel Edgerton as the male lead, a restaurant owner whose wife decides she's going to return to college, so it's an educated guess that these actors will fill out supporting roles in the restaurant and collegiate environments. We're definitely interested to see the scope of this project, and how the story differs from each person's perspective.
