Alice Krige

Now that a villain for Thor: The Dark World has been set with Christopher Eccleston playing Malekith the Accursed, some more supporting roles are being doled out. Production begins this fall on the Marvel sequel with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as the mischievous Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and more, and now a familiar face from the sci-fi world is entering the mix. Comic Book Movie has learned that Alice Krige, who is probably best recognized as the Borg Queen from Star Trek: First Contact and the "Star Trek: Voyager" series, has landed an unknown role in the 2013 release.

Though her character was not mentioned, the actress revealed her casting at a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. However, knowing that the sequel is supposed to deal with Dark Elves, it would be a good guess that Krige will play Alflyse, the queen of the Dark Elves and the Svartalfheim realm. After all, she did mention that she may not be entirely recognizable in the film, which would indicate that she'll be wearing a lot of make-up and prosthetics.  However, apparently her role won't be a very big one, so don't expect her to see much action as a villainous sidekick. Still, her talents make a solid addition to the developing sequel.

Couldn't be a better choice..

Agree. But make it perfect and get Charlotte Rampling in as well 😉

Susanna Thompson plays the Borg Queen in Voyager. But Krige is the superior Queen in First Contact. Brilliant choice.

While it is true that Thompson played the Borg Queen in most of that character's appearances on Voyager, Krige did, in fact, reprise her role from ST:FC in the Voyager finale, "Endgame".

I personally found her amazing in Children of Dune as Lady Jessica. Hope she gets some good lines.
