While Bradley Cooper is already lined up to reteam with The Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell in the film formerly known as American Bullshit, his future is filled with a couple vastly different roles. Variety has word that Cooper is entering talks to lead Bad Blood and Trouble, a new crime thriller from The Disappearance of Alice Creed director J. Blakeson. The official logline of the film is under wraps, but the film is set in the 1950's and would see Cooper playing a Miami detective in love with a married woman whose husband has been targeted by a group of criminals. But that's now all. More below!
Aside from taking on more crime thriller duty (remember that Cooper will also be seen alongside Ryan Gosling in The Place Beyond the Pines from Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance), Cooper is looking to get musical. THR has word that Cooper is currently mulling an offer to take the male lead in A Star is Born, the remake the 1954 musical of the same name which itself was a remake of the 1937 film with the same title). It would be the first time Cooper has stretched his musical chops, but he could end up passing on the role just like Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Tom Cruise who all flirted with the musical previously. Clint Eastwood is still lined up direct and Beyonce still has the female lead, but there's no telling when this will actually get off the ground.

I wonder why all those talented actors turned down a film that's a remake of a remake?
