In 2010, director David O. Russell returned to filmmaking with The Fighter after a six year absence from the big screen. Thankfully it's only been a couple years since then, and the filmmaker is back with something that feels completely new for Russell. The first trailer has arrived for his adaptation of Silver Linings Playbook starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as two lost, struggling, depressed people who find solace in each other. There's an awesome blend of comedy and drama, and you'll also see Chris Tucker for the first time in a few years. There's a lot going on in the trailer, but it looks great. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for David O. Russell's Silver Lining's Playbook, originally from Yahoo:
Silver Linings Playbook follows a former teacher (Bradley Cooper) after spending eight months in a mental institution, moving back in with his parents and trying to reconcile with his ex-wife, only to find another troubled soul (Jennifer Lawrence) who is just as lost as himself. David O. Russell writes and directs the film based on Matthew Quick's novel of the same name. Robert De Niro, Chris Tucker, Jacki Weaver, John Ortiz and Julia Stiles also star in the film slated to arrive in theaters November 21st for Thanksgiving. Good?

I highly doubt it. To me, this looks better than either actor's last movie. Yeah, it appears to be a very predictable plot, and I would bet on them ending up happily ever after together, but I'm still interested in their journey to get there.

While I speculated the same thing, I thought it would be cool, and of course sad, to have Bradley Cooper's character die of his disease or something like that at the end of the movie.

I agree, I'd actually really like that. I'm a sucker for Debbie Downer endings, tbh. All the moreso when I expect a Hollywood cookie cutter story to begin with.

I'm on the fence, but i think i like it overall. Cooper and Lawrence have enough charisma to carry it.

What a weird romantic pairing, isn't Bradley Cooper like 10 years older than Jennifer Lawrence? SOOOOOO excited to hear Lost in My Mind by The Head and The Heart in the trailer!!!!! I love it when great bands that nobody knows get recognition XD
