Cameron Crowe Says Jonsi Will Be Scoring His New Comedy Film, Too

Go sing, too loud. If I haven't said it enough, my favorite score of 2011 was indeed Jonsi's We Bought a Zoo; I love Sigur Ros and his music for it is just wonderful. Like David Fincher and Trent Reznor before them, it looks like filmmaker Cameron Crowe and Jonsi are now teaming up. The Playlist posted an update from Crowe himself via email, where he told them "yep, it's with Jónsi," in regards to his next film. I didn't even know he had another one lined up! But they go on to say it is a "currently untitled comedy" inspired, in spirit, by director Preston Struges. Whatever it may be, I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing it already.
While Crowe has another Marvin Gaye biopic project in the works, and that Volcano Romance/Deep Tiki Hawaiian romance, this new comedy is apparently something else entirely. "He once teased us by describing it as a film influenced by the humor and movies of the great golden age director Preston Struges," Playlist says. But Crowe adds, "There's only one Preston Sturges. He's always an inspiration though and this one's a comedy in that spirit. The leading ladies [in his films] always challenging the men for center stage, [and I] love that." Crowe is currently finish the script, and hoping to shoot the film sometime later this year. I'm just excited that Jonsi will be doing more scoring, especially for Cameron Crowe films, in the coming years.

I don't really care for his solo career, I'm anxious for more Sigur Ros and less Jonsi...that being said, I'm happy he is moving up as a film scorer.
