Whether you were a fan of "The West Wing" or not, a lot of people know Martin Sheen was the President of the United States throughout the run of the Aaron Sorkin drama series. Well, now his son will step into the Oval Office as Robert Rodriguez has revealed on Twitter (via Collider) that Charlie Sheen has been cast as the Commander in Chief for Machete Kills. It's the president himself who recruits Machete to take down a dangerous drug lord who is threatening the U.S. with nuclear attacks. Previous plot elements were debunked by Rodriguez himself at the same time the rumor of Zoe Saldana joining the cast first surfaced.
At this time, we can't confirm whether Saldana is in the cast or not, but Rodriguez tweeted a picture of him with Sheen today when he announced the casting, and production is already underway as co-star Sofia Vergara also tweeted a picture from the set. In addition, the director says there's more casting announcements on the way, so I would expect some more cameo stunt casting to round out the Grindhouse inspired sequel which already has Mel Gibson as the villain and lovely ladies like Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez back for round two with new faces like Amber Heard and of course Ms. Vergara in the mix.

Dare I say this is shaping up nicely? I am excited, no matter how bad it may actually be.

I can't wait for this movie! Its pretty cool that there are now two people in this whose careers had taken a PR nosedive, but both are trying to get back on track. I love Sheen and Gibson, this should make for a damn good time!

I hope this sequel be in size of " El Marachi " sequel , Not " Desperado " 's sequel. Rodriguez in best mood is " Sin City " / in bad mood is " Shorts " Harvey Dent Envy Him
