"I just wanted my dog back!" The teaser trailer for Tim Burton's black and white, stop-motion animated adaptation of his live-action short film from decades ago only gave us a hint of the story which brings Frankenweenie back to life, but now a new full length trailer brings plenty of new elements into the mix. Not only does Victor (Charlie Tahan of Charlie St. Cloud) bring Sparky back from the dead, but some other kids in town look to bring back some other deceased creatures as well. This looks like a return to form for Tim Burton, and we might have a film on par with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Watch it below!

Here's the new trailer for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, originally high def from Apple:

Young Victor (Charlie Tahan) conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. Based on Burton's original 1984 B&W short.

Frankenweenie was directed by mastermind Tim Burton, who's brought us Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Big Fish, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and The Nightmare Before Christmas previously. The screenplay was written by John August (Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, The Nines) from a story by Tim Burton & Leonard Ripps. Disney is bringing Frankenweenie to theaters everywhere in 3D starting on October 5th later this year. Watch the first teaser trailer here.

It looks very Burton-esque. Also, side note: Nightmare Before Christmas wasn't directed by Burton.

This is true...Nightmare Before Christmas was directed by Henry Selick who also directed James and the Giant Peach and Coraline...but is very similar to Tim Burton as far as animation goes....or...Tim Burton is similar to Henry Selick.

Dear DK Cause is Tim wrote " Nightmare BC " in 1983 , even made its concept art & storyboard to direct but don't adhere with disnay , some year later , they adhere with eachother but for batman series Tim take helmet of directing to his friend Henry. For me in Anime (stop motion) Henry > Tim , but love both , they are genius and creative.

This looks like the best Tim Burton film since.. Well, I forget, let's hope he redeems himself with this! Would love a cameo from Sofia Coppola, but I'm know that's impossible 🙂
