Some people will spend the holidays traveling around the world (or at least their respective countries), but what if you could check out the filming locations of some of the best films in history from the comfort of your own home? That's exactly what Travelex, a foreign currency provider, has done with a cool new app for world travelers and cinephiles alike. The Travelex Movie Lover’s Guide to the World is an interactive map that allows fans to check out the filming locations of the Top 250 Movies of All-Time as determined by IMDb. It's a pretty damn cool app that is quite addicting for any major film fan out there. More below!
You can use the embedded map below or go to Travelex's site for a full screen experience:
Travelex says : "The app yields interesting, and sometimes surprising, facts, such as that Star Wars Episode IV gathered its stunning foreign-planet backdrops by filming in California, Arizona, Guatemala, the U.K., and in various locations around Tunisia. Other blockbusters that were filmed in Tunisia can be discovered as well using the map, these include Raiders of the Lost Ark and Life of Brian. You may have watched The Matrix several times and never realized it was actually partly filmed in Tennessee." There's plenty of cool facts, figures and locations to spy on this map, so check it out on your holiday break!
