Alien Posters

It is the year of the return of sci-fi, with Ridley Scott's Prometheus, plus Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity and John Carter, Cloud Atlas, Looper all coming up. That means sci-fi fans are crazy with creativity, and it's pouring out online, for our viewing pleasure. Our friends at GeekTyrant found some awesome vintage poster artwork for Ridley Scott's original 1979 Alien (remember this teaser?) on Behance and they're terrific, I have to share them. The posters were made by designer midnight marauder, based in LA, who has a impressive gallery all-around. I had to share this specific set, in honor of Prometheus as well, as these are all awesome.

Click on any one below to see marauder's full Alien gallery on Behance. He also made one for Prometheus.

I think my favorite out of all of them is the one in the lowest corner to the left, as I just love the vertical alignment with the Alien lettering and the great shot of egg right below it, with Ripley to the side. These are some very well-designed, unique posters, and I'm more than happy to feature them. I'm not sure if we'd ever see something designed like this nowadays by an actual studio, but I love the work, and this 'midnight marauder' deserves some acclaim. His Tumblr is "dedicated to the art of Criterion DVD covers and film posters." You can find more of his work, including more poster designs, on either Behance or that Tumblr.
