Chris O'Dowd and Nick Frost to Star in Dancing Comedy 'Cuban Fury'
What happens when two British cult favorite comedy actors join forces in the same movie? Looks like we're about to find out. The Sun (via Twitch) report that Chris O'Dowd ("The IT Crowd," Bridesmaids) and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) will play rival dancers in Cuban Fury, a comedy from the same company responsible for Hot Fuzz, "Spaced," and Attack the Block. Frost will play a former salsa sensation who attempts a comeback in the dance world after his career was ruined by O'Dowd's character. Sounds similar to the underrated ice skating comedy with Will Ferrell and Jon Heder, Blades of Glory, so count me in.
There's not a lot of information available about the project right now, but we do know it will be the debut feature screenplay of Jon Brown. Among other shows across the pond, Brown has written for the super-powered teen series "Misfits" and the puppet sitcom "Mongrels." There's no director attached yet, but O'Dowd is preparing to star in John Michael McDonagh's Calvary and Frost has got The World's End coming up as soon as Simon Pegg finishes shooting Star Trek 2, so hopefully they can figure out the scheduling and get rolling on Cuban Fury as soon as possible. Sound good?
Behind every successful man there are usually a lot of unsuccessful years.

You had me at the comparison to Blades of Glory. If someone told me that Purina Dog Chow was as good as Blades of Glory, I would give it a shot. After I spit it out and realized someone was taking advantage of me, I'd eventually come to the conclusion that this sounds like an awesome pairing and am a big fan of Misfits too, so count me interested and keep the updates coming.
