After working with Roberto Orci as writers and producers of big budget sci-fi films like Transformers, Cowboys & Aliens and J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, you would think Alez Kurtzman would venture into the director's seat with a blockbuster. But instead he's taking on a character based drama with People Like Us starring new drama starring Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde, Elizabeth Banks and Michelle Pfeiffer. We've already seen a trailer for the film that doesn't look like it's amazing, but could be a charming little drama, and now a new sizzle reel (which is also like a featurette) has surfaced to give us more insight into the film.
Here's the sizzle reel for Alex Kurtzman's People Like Us sent to us from DreamWorks:
Sam is tasked with delivering $150,000 of his deceased father's fortune to the sister who he has never met.
People Like Us, originally titled Welcome to People, is the directorial debut of screenwriter/producer Alex Kurtzman, known as one half of Kurtzman/Orci, the writers behind M:I:III, Michael Bay's Transformers 1 & 2, Star Trek 1 & 2 and Cowboys & Aliens. The screenplay was written by Kurtzman, Jody Lambert, and Roberto Orci, his writing colleague. Produced by DreamWorks Pictures, released by Disney/DreamWorks, People Like Us arrives in theaters everywhere this summer starting June 29th. Look like it's worth seeing?

Looks like it "could" be good as long as what we're seeing doesn't fall into after school special popcorn drama.
