Yesterday morning, Jessica Biel joined the cast of Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho set to play Vera Miles, one of the stars of the titular classic horror film. Now the cast has grown again as Variety reports Danny Huston (Edge of Darkness), Michael Stuhlbarg (Hugo), Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine) and Michael Wincott (Strange Days) have all joined the film, based on the book of the same name, which follows tracks how Hitchcock, at the height of his game as a director, decided to make a "lowly" horror movie. No studio wanted to touch it initially so Hitchcock scrounged up the financing all by himself.
Anthony Hopkins is playing Hitchcock with Helen Mirren playing his wife Alma Reville. Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson plays scream queen Janet Leigh and James D'Arcy plays out creepy killer Anthony Perkins. As for the new cast members, Collette is playing Peggy Robertson, Hitchcock's longtime assistant, while Stuhlbarg will play the director's big time agent Lew Wasserman. Huston is playing Whitfield Cook, friend to the director's wife, and Wincott is playing Ed Gein, the real killer upon which Psycho is actually based. They're all working under director Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) and I can't wait to see how this film comes together. Can the cast get much better than this? We'll have to wait and see.
