Following the success of Horrible Bosses, director Seth Gordon has already lined up a sequel with Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis and Jason Bateman returning, and he's also working with the ripe and popular comedic talents of Melissa McCarthy on Identity Theft (which also stars Bateman). Now the filmmaker has lined up another comedy over at New Line with a script coming from Max Werner, the writer behind TV mastermind Josh Schwartz's ("Chuck" and "The OC") feature film debut Fun Size. However, Variety reports that the logline and any vague details about the film currently titled The Has-Beens, have not yet been revealed.
If I had to guess, I'd wager that the film is an even more comedic approach to something like RED, with some washed up, older action veterans getting back in the game. Of course, that seems to simple, and if New Line is keeping it under wraps, hopefully that means it's something more original that they want to keep secret. As a director, Gordon has proved himself to be better than his efforts on Four Christmases, especially following his great success with the documentary feature The King of Kong before that. I'm glad to see Horrible Bosses take off as a hit last year, and can't wait to see his forthcoming projects as well.
