Disney is Sending Marvel's 'Ant Man' to Theaters in November 2015

After debuting some test footage at Comic-Con this past summer (check out our video blog here), the thought of releasing Edgar Wright's take on the lesser known superhero Ant Man as early as 2014 became more of a reality. Now Disney and Marvel have made the dreams of comic book nerds come true again, though it's not as soon as we initially thought. An official press release from Disney has announced that Ant Man will hit theaters on November 6th, 2015, six months after The Avengers 2 hits theaters that summer. In addition, there's also some 3D updates for two of Marvel's Phase Two installments. Read on!
First, the real star here is Ant Man. And while the official footage from Comic-Con hasn't been released online yet, a dedicated fan did put together this cool storyboard recreation of the footage, and it's pretty damn accurate. This should give you an idea of how Ant Man will work on the big screen (via SlashFilm):
Meanwhile, though this has been expected, Disney and Marvel have also announced that Iron Man 3 (arriving May 3rd, 2013) and Thor: The Dark World (November 8th, 2013) that both films will arrive in 3D. No word on whether Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4th, 2014) will get a 3D release, but since the first film threw Cap's shield into the third dimension, I'd say it's pretty much a guarantee. It will make the box office numbers bigger around the world, and after the storm of cash that erupted from The Avengers, it just makes sense. Stay tuned for Marvel updates. Excited for Ant Man?

I like super hero movies as much as the next guy, but I don't think I'll be lined up to see Ant Man on opening night. I think it will be tough to convince the movie going public that this is worth the cost of a movie ticket. The premise alone makes it sound like a B movie. I sure hope they prove me wrong!

they will. Most people didnt know about Iron Man before the movie. He's honestly a B level character.

The test footage was pretty impressive and Edgar Wright hasn't made a bad film yet. We have faith.

Judging from the test I'm sure he'll use the character in the wright way. Thanks to the artist who recreated it

They say a superhero's sexlife can be read from their fighting style...

Iron Man 3 is rumored to have "Nanotechnology" my hope is that they implement that technology to explain Ant Man's suit abilities, and they should at least let Ant Man make a cameo in Avengers 2, because he was one of the original Avengers(in the comics) even if he just appears as an everyday man or a scientist in Shield or something like that, like his appearance inspires him to develop the suit to help the Avengers next time around. Well whatever as long as Wright does what he does I have hope for this movie

what the hell? release in theater almost the end of year 2015. Is this a joke. Marvel don't have enough staffs to get the movie done on time. Lots of unemployed people out there. Hire them and get the job done or just don't release any updates on Ant-man until the mid of 2014. Jezzz... Marvel wants people to remember Ant man movie for 3 years, as though we don't have any other work to do..

You obviously have no idea how the movie business works....Go watch Raimi's Spider-man and let the grown ups talk.

I have a feeling that this movie is going to bomb at the box office. Ant man is pretty lame as far as superheroes go and the general population isn't going to latch onto him.
