Disney Pulls the Plug on Snow White Themed 'Order of the Seven'

Once upon a time, the "alternate take on a classic story" was still a fresh idea in Hollywood. But that concept has been crowding the field a bit as of late, and fairy tale movies have been all the rage since Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland kicked the global box office in the teeth and joined the Billion Dollar Club. So it's not much of a surprise that THR reports Order of the Seven (formerly known as Snow and the Seven) has been given the boot at the Mouse House. It's a shame, too, considering that one sounded like it had the most promise among the recent Mirror, Mirror and Snow White & The Huntsman competitors. More below!
This film would have starred Saoirse Ronan as a British expatriot who enlists the help of centuries-old warriors in place of the normal seven dwarves. If you're disappointed that we're losing out on this story, fear not, as we've still got a ton of other revisionist films coming soon. There are a few different Peter Pan stories in development, Sam Raimi's Oz, The Great and Powerful will put a twist on an old classic, and of course there's Angelina Jolie's reimagining of Maleficent for this same studio. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Trust me, fairy tale stories will still be flooding into Hollywood for years to come, but I'm glad to see that at least Disney has the ability to sense audience overload and decided that now's probably not the best time to pile one more of these movies on to us. Thoughts?

I can this becoming really annoying, Alice n Wonderland wasnt that good and I heard the first Snow White that came out this year was terrible. Im hoping that the new Snow White movie will leave me feeling better about the whole concept but feel like its going to be really bad but the studio will keep churning them out
