Looks like Dominic Cooper has found a new project to replace Motor City. The Captain America actor was once set to take the lead in that film (ultimately snagged by Gerard Butler), and now Cooper is joining Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace in a revenge thriller called Dead Man Down. Directed by Niels Arden Oplev, who directed Rapace in the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, this story follows Farrell as he goes undercover in the crime syndicate responsible for killing his family and Rapace as a mysterious woman who knows all about his past. According to Variety, Cooper will play Farrell's partner on the streets. Read on!
I think supporting roles like these are perfect for Cooper right now as he slowly tries to transition into leading man material. His Howard Stark was one of my favorite parts about Captain America, and he was also enjoyable in a small role in My Week With Marilyn last year. He consistently does a great job of delivering solid performances while still bringing out the best in his fellow actors, something I think is an overlooked and undervalued skill these days. He also stars in the upcoming adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter out this summer, so be sure to keep your eyes on this guy as he becomes a star on the rise.

He was fantastic in "The Devils Double". A film of dubious origin but still a cracking story well told. Looking forward to his performance in Abe Vampire Hunter.
