First Trailer for Charming Time Travel Indie 'Safety Not Guaranteed'

The film was one of our favorites at Sundance 2012 with our own Alex Billington giving it a stellar review, and it actually ended up as my favorite film of the festival this year. Now Safety Not Guaranteed, the quirky indie time travel comedy co-starring Mark Duplass ("The League"), Aubrey Plaza ("Parks & Recreation") and Jake Johnson ("New Girl"), finally has a trailer and both myself and Mr. Billington are quoted near the end! This film truly is a great indie gem, and it's the reason we go to festivals like Sundance. It's funny, touching and wholly original. It'll hit theaters this summer so don't miss it! See the trailer below.
Watch the first official trailer for Colin Trevorrow's Safety Not Guaranteed, in high def via Apple:
Safety Not Guaranteed, written by Derek Connolly (who won the Sundance Screenwriting Award as well) and directed by Colin Trevorrow, is about the classified ad placed in a paper looking for someone to "travel back in time with." Mark Duplass stars as the strange supposed time traveler and Aubrey Plaza as his skeptical companion. The film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year, where it received rave reviews from myself, Alex and many others. FilmDistrict picked it up for distribution, and now has Safety Not Guaranteed slated to hit limited theaters starting on June 8th, 2012 this summer. Excited to see it?

Nothing says recognition like seeing your quotes at the end of a trailer. Nice job you two, can't wait to see the movie!

Para - lame? really? Could be a psycho - regardless, an adventure awaits!

what adventure? the guy is obviously not smart enough to build a time machine. i'm not going to watch some movie for 2 hours only to be disappointed at the end when there is no time machine.

The idea has so much potential, but I think taking it and twisting it into an indie rom-com might've been a misstep. AND they gave too much away in the trailer.

Aubrey Plaza playing a character who is skeptical?!?!?! Man, she really LOVES flexing those acting muscles of hers through a wide range of characters, doesn't she?! Uh-oh...look out, Meryl Streep!
