Dark Skies Trailer

"You cannot escape them." Whoa. Nothing like a little extraterrestrial thrill to keep the family on their toes this Thanksgiving. Dimension Films has unveiled the first trailer via Fandango for Dark Skies, a new alien abduction/invasion thriller about a family being marked and tormented. This comes from the same guy who made those VFX overkill films Legion and Priest, but it actually looks like an improvement. Keri Russell stars as the mother, Josh Hamilton as the father, and Dakota Goyo (Real Steel) as one of the kids. If you like aliens (or even if you don't) this one will give you quite a scare, I'm hooked even though it freaked me.

Here's the first official trailer for Scott Charles Stewart's Dark Skies, originally from Fandango:

From the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes Dark Skies: a supernatural thriller that follows a young family living in the suburbs. As husband and wife Daniel (Hamilton) and Lacey Barret (Russell) witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barret family is being targeted by an unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, Daniel & Lacey take matters into their own hands to solve this dark mystery.

Dark Skies is written & directed by Scott Charles Stewart, former visual effects producer for The Orphanage who directed both Priest and Legion last year. Dimension Films is releasing on February 22nd next year.

This trailer did a damn good job of freaking me out. I think that's a good sign that the movie will be genuinely terrifying for me. I know a lot of people don't find this kind of content (alien abduction) scary, but I sure do...and I love watching these kinds of movies that will scare me!

Ok, nitpicking here. But the beginning intro scene about COD:MW really irked me. Assuming he's in MP, there is no "save" button... rofl. There are checkpoints in single player mode too........... but that's just the gamerside in me talkin. LOL

ok, I'll be the one to ask...... why is it called Dark Skies? Not once in the trailer do we see the sky or anything in it.

Is everyone forgetting that DARK SKIES was a great TV series with an unforgettable character named John Loengard who found out about Roswell and became a part of the secret committee who studied the alien bodies the gov. had on ice? This was a period-piece back then around when JFK was pres. An incredible moment was when the Cuban Missile Crisis happened - and Loengard couldn't understand WHY the world was on the edge of war when he knew for certain that Russia and the U.S. KNEW OF THE ALIENS! This fact should have united humans against the alien threat; not pushed us toward world war! Startling plot points for prime time TV - This new thing should NEVER have been called 'Dark Skies' unless you want to redo the original series and continue it. Bad title...
