Les Misérables Featurettes

Get ready to break out in song this Christmas when Universal releases Tom Hooper's adaptation of Les Misérables the musical, starring Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean. With awards season in full swing, and lots of Oscar buzz coming every which way for Les Mis, Universal is keeping things on high heat releasing four full-length featurettes on different aspects of the movie. These actually delve into the various design areas: hair & make-up, costumes, production design plus one for the new song "Suddenly", they're all quite fascinating. There's plenty to explore in the design work, and this film will be getting awards for it.

Here's four featurettes for Tom Hooper's Les Misérables here, from YouTube (found via Awards Daily):

Tom Hooper (The King's Speech) is directing Les Miserables, an adaptation of the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel set in 19th-century France, in which a paroled prisoner named Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) seeks his redemption. Alain Boublil adapted his own work with Claude-Michel Schonberg, who also wrote the stage musical, Herbert Kretzmer and William Nicholson. The film also stars Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eddie Redmayne and will hit theaters everywhere on December 25th, Christmas Day. Bring your whole family!

I don't think this will be as huge as Titanic, but this is gunna explode all over the place. I predict from now until next x-mas, it's gunna be one of the highest grossing films, if not the highest grossing film of the year. Every girl and woman from 10-95 wants to see this one 🙂

It won't be as big as Hobbit - but I suspect it'll hold its own against all the other films out over Christmas.
