Gemma Arterton Takes Gamble on 'Runner Runner' with Timberlake

It's possible that British actress Gemma Arterton has a wealth of talent, but I think it's safe to say we haven't seen it yet. So far, she's best known for looking beautiful in thankless roles in big budget action movies like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Clash of the Titans, and Quantum of Solace, and she hasn't been given many opportunities to break out from the typical "love interest" parts she's been playing. Add one more to the pile, since Variety reports that she'll be the object of Justin Timberlake's affection in Runner Runner, the upcoming gambling thriller starring Ben Affleck and Anthony Mackie. The Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman is directing Runner Runner, which stars Timberlake as a Princeton student who is cheated out of his tuition playing online poker. He finds out the website he used is hosted from a remote island location and confronts Affleck's character, who runs the whole thing. But Timberlake is soon lured into being Affleck's right-hand man, while an FBI agent (Mackie) tries to use him to bring Affleck down. The script was written by Rounders writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien, so this should be an interesting thematic follow-up to that project considering this is a more modern tale about gambling online. I'm not expecting much from Arterton, but she has a lead role in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters next year alongside Jeremy Renner, so perhaps that will be a better look at her talent. Thoughts?

Cant really wait for " Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters ", I wish from god this movie doesnt delay for anything like happend on G I Joe(not fan of gijoe) She play very ggod in Tamara Drewe (at least for me) Gorgeous & Hot Actress , She must challenge her abilities in this. I think mr.Affleck have better carrier if focus on directing, Big Fan of Twon & Gone Baby Gone. He is working on cool thriller called "Argo", i am waiting for more imformation about that , Extreme Interest about that

I think he's become the unspoken mascot of firstshowing. I would love to see Ehsan Davodi at the next Comic Con rather than Bob Stencil. Make it happen Alex!

That's the problem with a lot of good european actors when they go to Hollywood: they are only offered shit (and for actrecess is quite difficult to be someting more than the love interest. If you really want to know how good is she, just watch her in british productions as the victim of a kidnap in "The Disappearance of Alice Creed" or in the leading role of the BBC miniseries Tess of the D'Urbervilles. By the way, talking about Clash of the Titans, could you say that Ralph Fiennes, Lian Neeson and Mads Mikkelsen (Tha last best actor in the Cannnes festival) are good actors? Or even Laurence Olivier, Maggie Smith or Caire Bloom in the original version? Its the same with american actors, or would you praise Natalie Portman for Thor?
