Giants Ahoy! Second Trailer for Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Slayer'

Warner Bros has unleashed the second, or rather currently official trailer, for Bryan Singer's latest fantasy detour before he returns to the X-Men franchise. The action-adventure epic is now called Jack the Giant Slayer, originally called Jack the Giant Killer when they released the first trailer last year, which received an extremely dismal response, also prompting them to delay the release until March instead of June (2012). Nicholas Hoult stars as Jack, along with Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane and Warwick Davis in this Hollywood 3D re-imagining of Jack and the Bean Stalk.
Watch the second official trailer for Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Slayer, in high def via Apple:
A modern fairy tale in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened, as a young farmer (Hoult) leads an expedition into the giants' kingdom in hopes of rescuing a kidnapped princess.
Jack the Giant Killer Slayer is directed by filmmaker Bryan Singer, of Public Access, The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X-Men, X2, Superman Returns and Valkyrie previously. The script is by Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), Christopher McQuarrie (Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) and Dan Studney (Reefer Madness: The Musical). Warner Bros has pushed Jack the Giant Slayer back until March 1st, 2013 next spring. Better?

i'm a big fan of this type of fantasy; but, from this trailer, i have serious doubts........... nothing about it looks that good.

I think that's Sir Ian McKellen narrating at the start. Too bad he's not putting in an appearance. Great casting choices, with both Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci bringing some comedy to the film it seems. And I do enjoy director Singer's films. I can accept updating the story line a little to add more action, as that would be needed compared to the original source material. For now this seems like a possible on my list of films to see next year. Further information is probably going to be required first.

Yeah.... just not feeling it. I want it to be good, but this trailer isn't making me care all that much.

I still think the Giant Trolls in the TrollHunter movie looks way better than these giants.

Garbage! Singer shouldn't be allowed to touch X-Men or Superman ever again. He's a hack and his day is coming.

I don't think Singer is that bad. Apart from Superman (which I think wasn't all his fault), I've enjoyed all of his other movies. Usual Suspects, X1 and 2 were awesome movies. Loved Valkyrie, so I'm going to give this one a try.

That's because you are high on crack. Everything he touches SUCKS ASS. Period. I can't believe he's going to fuck up the next X-men, after Vaughn's masterpiece.... The executives who made that decision should be publicly hanged.

Wow I must be high on crack then cause The usual suspects definitely did not suck ass. First class was faaaarrr from a masterpiece, it was a good xmen movie but a masterpiece? You cant be serious. It lost masterpiece level greatness when they used Darwin as the token black man.

Love Apt pupil and the Usual suspects but this looks horrendous. This looks silly and campy. Jikes I am almost crying, I really hope Singer goes back to what he does great and that is smaller character driven movies.

The special effects look great. But the lack of convincing drama like LORD OF THE RINGS would render this a flaccid affair. The romantic lead is appealing but not as sexy as, say, SNOW WHITE with Kristen & Chris. Again I am surprised by the amount of goofy comedy coming from dead-as-serious Bryan Singer. BEst prediction: $70 million (John CARTER, BATTLESHIP), surprise hit: $120 million, nothing more.

The effects have a terrible 'Land of the Lost' vibe to them. Just overly fake looking and plastic-ky. A lot of wasted talent in there (most seem to be phoning it in, too).
