Hopkins as 'Hitchcock' Warns Against Movie Theater Cell Phone Use
by Ethan Anderton
October 15, 2012
The first official trailer for Hitchcock, which chronicles prolific director Alfred Hitchcock whilst making his classic horror film Psycho, just debuted recently, and Anthony Hopkins looks to turn in another Oscar worthy performance. Now we get to see even more of Hitchcock in the form of a PSA meant for movie theaters that tells patrons not to use their cell phone during the film. While this video looks like a bootleg from a movie theater, this was sent out through official channels, so this isn't pirated. We're not sure if they're trying to make this video seem viral, but we at least get more of Hopkins as Hitchcock. Watch below!
Here's Anthony Hopkins in the PSA featuring footage from Hitchcock:
Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) is directing Hitchcock, written by John McLaughlin (Black Swan) and based on the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello. Anthony Hopkins plays director Alfred Hitchcock and is supported by a great cast including Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D'Arcy and more. The film, a love story, takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal film Psycho. Fox Searchlight opens Hitchcock in limited theaters on November 23rd, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Se the poster here and stay tuned.

Oh! The horrors! Horrors!! The assholes using cellphones during the movie! I see this all the time! They look at the phones to see what time it is, they text their friends, or pick up and answer! Horrors!

Amen to that. Why can't cinemas use phone scramblers? Why on earth someone would pay £10 and then sit there on their phone I don't know. There are parks and cafes for you idiots!

People are just that stupid. Why would someone pay £20 for petrol and just go for a 'drive around?'. Why would someone, buy food and not eat it? Next time someone does it in your cinema spit in their face, really hard. If they are offended punch them in the throat. Cinemas used to be about escapism, but people can't escape their bland lives anymore.

Would have been more fun if they could have used CGI and smart editing and used the real Alfred Hitchock.
