Image Ent. Debuts a Creepy Trailer for 'The Tall Man' with Jessica Biel

Time to meet the Tall Man. Image Entertainment has debuted, found via Bloody-Disgusting, the official US release trailer for Pascal Laugier's horror-thriller The Tall Man. In the film, Jessica Biel stars as a single mother who moves to a quiet mining town, but discovers there's a guy snatching kids called the Tall Man. Of course, her own son gets taken, and she goes mad with fury hunting this guy down and figuring out who he is. The cast also includes Jodelle Ferland and Stephen McHattie. This trailer doesn't have as many of the complex details as that first trailer we featured, but does have some impressive shots in it. Take a look.

Here's the synopsis for Pascal Laugier's The Tall Man: In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as "The Tall Man." Town nurse Julia Denning (Biel) seems skeptical… until her young David disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller from acclaimed director Pascal Laugier. Also stars: Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie and Jakob Davies. Image Ent. is finally releasing The Tall Man on August 31st this year.

Actually Jeremy Kirk (of Firstshowing fame) recently wrote a Slender Man film and is looking to fund it on Kickstarter, but it does appear like this film may have beaten him to the punch. https://www.firstshowing.net/2012/kickstart-this-kaufmans-stop-motion-anomalisa-the-slender-man/

The trailer was kind of cheesy, especially the crappy animation of the "tall man" shrinking into the titles...but I still have a feeling that it could be good. We'll see.

Yeah, no. Still doesn't do anything for me. And I also still think the Tall Man looks like the I Know What You Did Last Summer killer, only without the hook.
