Paleontology got more screams than laughs in Jurassic Park, but the dinosaur digging profession is about to get the comedy treatment. Showbiz 411 has word that Steve Carell and James Gandolfini, who will be seen together in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, will team up again for a comedy called The Bone Men. Carell's Carousel Productions is behind the film which sees the two actors playing a pair of paleontologists from the late 1800s. Seems like a strange setting for a comedy, but with these two on board, my interest is at least piqued for now. However, there's no word on how soon this project might get off the ground. Read on!
Gandolfini does say "It's very funny," so that's a solid endorsement for a comedy, especially since he hasn't done a straight-up comedy since In the Loop. Word on the street is Fox 2000 and HBO are interested in the film, but it sounds like the project is still in the early stages of development. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing how Carell and Gandolfini fair in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone which also features Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi. We'll do our best to keep you posted as The Bone Men develops.
