The Wolverine

Briefly: 20th Century Fox has apparently set a release date for The Wolverine, the back-to-life Wolverine spin-off, with James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day) now set to direct. It will hit theaters July 26th, 2013, same weekend as the Dirty Dancing remake, and a week after Joseph Kosinski's Horizons. The update comes from Box Office Mojo (via SlashFilm) and means that Fox is moving forward with this, finally getting things set to start up this summer with Mangold at the helm, since its been a bit off after Darren Aronofsky left. Hugh Jackman is set to star in the story about Logan's adventures in Japan.

Looking forward to this, but maybe make it less messy than the first one? 🙂

I know this is just being picky, but why is Wolverine getting older when this is suppose to be a prequel? Saw X-men the other day on cable and Jackman looked a lot younger back then. I know his healing factor is suppose slow down his aging but i didn't know that it could turn back the hands of time too.

When I read comics back in the early nineties, Wolverine was of the most interesting characters around. Please make this movie worthwhile!

Wolverwhahahahahaha. It'll be terrible like the last one. That was hilari-bad. It had a pop-singer in it.

Origins: Wolverine was so horrible I don't even remember there was a pop singer in the movie.

I was crying tears of blood too, but a memebr of Black Eyed Peas was in there for defo, at least it wasn't Fergie. I don't hold out much hope for the film, even though Wolverine is a favourite character of mine.

They should have Wolverine fight Sato and his gang from Black Rain.

This time they better get it right. Wolverine in Japan, four issue mini-series. 'Nuff Said. If Fox wants to keep showing just how stubbornly pigheaded a conservative can be in going out of their way to NOT FOLLOW THE COMICS, then enjoy not making money like Dark Knight and Iron Man. If Fox wants to make the fat cash, they just need to see line 2. It really is just that simple.
