TRAILERS
Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez and Disguises in the Trailer for 'Parker'

It's been awhile since Jennifer Lopez took a dive into action, so who better to team up with than Jason Statham? Let's be honest, there's a certain kind of film we've come to expect from Statham (The Bank Job being pretty much the only exception to the rule), and this first trailer for Parker certainly fits the bill. Sure it's silly, but there's plenty of action, and this time Statham throws on some (terrible) disguises. Plus Michael Chiklis and Nick Nolte are in the mix this time around, so that should make for a little bit of fun when the film hits theaters early next year. It doesn't look good, but it just looks like a Statham movie.
Here's the first full trailer for Taylor Hackford's Parker, originally from Machinima:
Taylor Hackford (Ray, Proof of Life) directs Parker from a script by John J. McLaughlin based on Donald E. Westlake's novels featuring the titular recurring character. Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don't steal from people who can't afford it and don't hurt people who don't deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Disguised as a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez) to devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean. The film hits theaters January 25th, 2013.

"I don't drink coffee after seven" ugh, they're not even trying to be witty anymore. This looks like a tv movie with expensive casting

I like Statham, he's a good action star, but I wish he'd pick some roles more like his old Guy Ritchie flicks. Doesn't look great, typical Statham fare, which is usually entertaining, but why Jennifer Lopez? Does anyone give a shit about her anymore? Can't stand her.

This looks like a movie called payback with Mel Gibson done in the 90's. His name was Porter though. lol

They're both based on the novel "The Hunter" by Richard Stark (aka Donald Westlake). Payback was a slightly flawed but totally cool, atmospheric flick. This looks like shit.

He kinda had trouble delivering the intro which doesn't bode well for the actual movie

Being a huge fan of the Donald Westlake novels that this movie is reportedly based on, I for one am really disappointed that the trailer shows none of the nuances of the Parker character and just looks like the usual crappy hyperactive action movies that Statham churns out. You want a real thrill ride, read one of the many novels in the series. They've yet to transfer any of the action from the books to the screen accurately.

I love Statham. Sure, he's the king of B movies these days. But this looks fun. I would like to see him do just a drama one time (with no fighting or action). Or even a comedy (same, with no fighting or action). To date, my favorite JS films are (in this order): "The Bank Job", "Blitz", "Snatch", "Crank" and "The Italian Job".
