Joe Carnahan Reveals That a Sequel to 'Narc' May Get Off the Ground
While there was rumblings that a sequel to The A-Team from director Joe Carnahan might bring back Liam Neeson and his crew for some more crazy action, Moviehole recently talked with the two talents, and it doesn't sound like Fox is interested in another film since the first one seems to have lost the studio some money. However, Carnahan did have some hope for a sequel to another one of his more respected but low-key films. Though in the same line of questions Carnahan said, "I don’t want to get tied up in that whole world of sequels and franchises," apparently a Narc sequel has recently been discussed with Ray Liotta.
The original has Liotta putting in a great performance alongside Jason Patric as an undercover narcotics officer lured back to the force to help solve a murder investigation that has gone cold amongst a force of corrupt police officers involved in illegal drug trade. Carnahan says, "I was talking to Ray Liotta the other night about a Narc sequel. I told him the opening; if I could do that movie for like ten million bucks and not be bothered and be left to do my thing I would do it in a second. Creative control means more to me than having my name on a big-budget thing.” It's not a guarantee that this will happen, but if Carnahan can round up the dough, fans of the original film just might have something to get excited about, especially if they're disappointed about The A-Team sequel.
Uuuuuuhhh...okay....Ethan, I think that you are a little confused about the synopsis by the fact that it was actually Jason Patric's character who was lured back to the force to solve the murder, while Ray Liotta died at the end. Although, we never really got to see Liotta die, so maybe we could see him back again for this one.

Yeah, I meant to put Jason Patric's name in there between mentioning Ray Liotta so thanks for pointing out that fact I mistakenly excluded.

Narc is a great movie. I don't understand what possible other story there is to tell. Yes Ray Liotta's character dies at the end so this whole sequel thing sounds like a bunch of crap.

uh, Ethan, no Jason Patric in NARC, and it is a direct to DVD mess like Liottas 15 previous movies, and the following 15. Patric steals the movie and grounds it.
